For you old timers who grew up reading actual newspapers, you will remember the sports writer TJ Simers.
If you're too young to remember him, Simers was the longtime sportswriter for the Times, and before that the SD Union Tribune. After leaving San Diego, Simers never missed an opportunity to look down on San Diego sports, but he had a dry wit and a great writing style.
Simers filed suit for constructive termination and age discrimination. Simers won a verdict of $7.5M, but the Times appealed and the case was sent back for a retrial.
Today the jury came back with a $15.5M verdict against the Times.

The guy had no fear.....my favorite, to paraphrase, regarding Rams owner Georgia Frontiere, he refered to her as "Georgia front and reary". His problem was, as he often thought he was the smartest person in the room, he had no respect or tolerance for what he considered to be stupid people. A man after my heart.
