I could go on and on about how self-serving and power hungry the politicians behind this desired amendment to the Constitution are and how ludicrous and hypocritical it it to allow some corporations to have unfettered free-speech rights and while limiting the free speech rights of other corporations.
These pols simply don't want the competition and/or want as much money as possible from non-media corporations to flow through their own money laundering schemes (called re-election campaigns). It is a lame-a$$ incumbent & party enrichment & protection act, nothing more.
The "more equal" aspect of this proposed law is unambiguous. "Overturning Citizens United," Schumer said, "is probably more important than any other single thing we could do to preserve this great and grand democracy." Please raise your hand if you actually believe this statement. It will tell me everything I need to know about your view of the Constitution and how you think the Constitution should not apply to all individuals equally.
And remember, under this change to the 1st Amendment, it is the individuals associated with media corporations (~Moore, Hannity, Maddow, Levin, Rush, Bezos, Sulzberger, Murdoch, etc, etc.) that get to have their political speech unfettered and while yours are curtailed. Got it?
