Part of the vaunted 2016 international signing class, Arias has seen a serious spike in pitch recognition over the last few months. Baseball Prospectus put a 60 future profile grade on him. The defense/glove is considered Gold Glove caliber. If the offense continues to make strides, he is going to make for a very attractive trade chip.

Thanks! He was off my radar. Two things really stand out. First, he is only 19 years old playing in advanced a ball. Second, his July numbers are great. July OPS .949. July BA .368.

He has really shown strides the last two months. I talked to Kyle Glaser from Baseball America and he said some very nice things about how his game has come along. Elsinore is extremely young, but they have some really nice pieces.

Elsinore is extremely young, but they have some really nice pieces. Did not like the look of the Storm tonight. Perhaps just one of those games, but they really didn't look interested in playing tonight. Campusano the biggest culprit tonight. Lazy behind the plate, and no hustle down the line, and had a throwing error that led to an unearned run, that was given up by the best part of the night, Jacob Nix. His start, his first of the year, went 4 1/3 allowing 2 hits, the unearned run, 1 walk and 7 K's. Was tagged with the loss in the 2-0 San Jose victory tonight. Fun fact tonight--Ruddy Giron was the "double-double batter of the game". He doubles, and all in section 101 get a free double-double. I was in that section. No food tonight, as Giron achieved the golden sombrero. 4 K's. |

Tonight, Arias was part of a 13-3 drubbing by Lancaster. At least, until the top of the 9th. Lake Elsinore then scored 10 to tie it, and scored 1 in the 10th to win 14-13.
Currently, the Storm are in 2nd place in their division, and still have a shot at a playoff spot.

All 10 runs were scored with 2 outs. The Storm were down to their last strike 7 different times. Surreal.
