Here we go again with the Hoke for head coach in the future thing. Look at his career results people. If that's the sort of head coach we are looking to get after Rocky departs, then don't bother building the stadium.
Yeah, let's look at Hoke's career record, 'lasaztecas', since you seem to be not impressed by him. First, after taking Ball St. the year before he came
to San Diego to an 12-0 record (he did?), he then puts some guts and determination in to a San Diego State Aztec team which had not seen any in
over a decade. Then guided them to their first winning season in 2010 at 9-4 which included their first bowl victory (35-14 over Navy) since way back
in 1969.
We have had nothing but winning seasons since, but he got us going that way first! Third, he left to go coach his dream job at Michigan, and he may
not have been the best, or winningest coach in the nation, but he did have a fine 11-2 record with them that first year! His Wolverine team did
defeat Notre Dame, Nebraska, and rival Ohio St. that year before going to the Sugar Bow to beat 17th ranked Virgina Tech, 33-20!
His overall record at Michigan was a winning one at 31-20 for four years. Not outstanding, but not as bad as you try to infer. There have been many
coaches who have done considerably worse.
The main thing is he instilled a tough, determined, never give up attitude here which Rocky has continued to promote over the last eight years,
and that is something you can't measure always in wins & losses. I have absolutely no problem with him and Rocky leading our Aztecs. I welcome
him back completely, and look forward to the 2019 Aztec Football for sure!
