I'm very curious. One publication I read had us rated pretty evenly. I'm no expert so I have no clue. It would be nice though. Opinions?

Glad this game is early in the season - makes it a more even contest. UCLA's first string should definitely be a test for the Aztecs. The heat will take its toll on both sides equally. Gotta hope the Aztecs have a set offense and everyone's healthy by then. Should also add "YES", the Aztecs can beat UCLA this season in football.

They were awful last year, Chip Kelly should have UCLA ready to play this year. First recruiting class, so they may not make an impact until next season.
Wait, let me ask my wife she is a Bruin.

I'm gonna have to change my FB profile pic to a Bruin logo for a week if we don't. Got a bet with my older bro who is an Bruin.

Will be tough, UCLA runs the spread with athletes, SDSU and Rocky Long has not shown they can stop the spread. Will need to have a ball control offense and keep UCLA's offense on the sideline.

Its the spread offense with evenly match athletes. Automatic loss for Rocky unfortunately.

Nope. Not with Horton and his offense.

Going strictly on history, we get beat. If nothing else, however, the law of averages has to break our way sometime. Now would be a good time.

We’ll be 8 pt underdogs. At least. It will be nice to jump back into a world where the winning team is irrelevant, just the spread. Thing is, early in the season one is going to want to get a handle on the element(s) they're/they'll be dealing with as soon as possible.

That's an excellent point. Furthermore, we're something like 0-20-1 all time against UCLA and while Athlon has the Bruins as having the #42 team in the country, Athlon has us at #63 or one-third again worse plus the game is in their stadium. I will say this. Rocky Long coached teams are typically much more mentally and physically tough than were Tom Craft coached teams so unlike what I saw in 2004 and 2005, these Aztecs aren't going to stop giving 100% effort if they get down by a couple TDs.

I feel like the Brady Hoke factor is being ignored. If he can do wonders with the DL, then expect the Bruin's QB to be harassed and sacked more than a few times

This is the best chance for the Aztecs to beat the Bruins, maybe ever.
The Aztecs have won 4 of the last 5 games vs PAC 12 teams and SDSU is probably pissed off at the way last year ended, they will be motivated.
PAC 12 is down, I’m putting my $ on the Aztecs for the win.

If things aren't going well and we don't make halftime adjustments, we don't deserve to win.

UCLA was cagey in scheduling~ If it had been last year, or a home game for us this year, we coulda won. But year 2 Chip Kelly at the Rose Bowl gives the Aztecs about a 20% chance. Lower the next time we play them, in 2 more years, with Chip Kelly fully reloaded.

Just not sure Brady has enough quality and speed there. I just see us getting worn down. I will, however, be happy to admit I'm wrong.

Home Opener for UCLA - sure they will want to show they are on the way back to being a high quality team
Also as pointed out playing in warm temperature mid day - so that usually means more subs will need to play - disadvantage for Non P5 schools as the starters get tired need more reserves - deeper squad to stay with them on OL and DL - where game is usually won - advantage to UCLA

If Hoke gets the DL back to dominance and the revamped OL can get a push I think the Aztecs win. UCLA will choke if we run the ball and control the clock. I would see it being similar to the Stanford game we won a few years back. The OL looks to be solid this year. Anyone have some thoughts on how they will perform?
