The broadcast got progressively better throughout the first day. Video feed was better than theMtn or Stadium or whatever tf ever our league tries to do sometimes. Guy giving commentary didn’t know the players Current Aztecs- Yanni played in Game 1. Some on twitter/in attendance thought he looked great. It’s hard to tell in this style of game with guys that have never played together. Showed flashes, showed lapses. Maybe an off day, but maybe also not a plug and play 30mpg starter. Want to see more. Matt played Game 4. Best player on the floor for long stretches, especially in the second half. Took over and won the game for his team in the last three minutes, including a buzzer beating 3 to win by two (worth watching if you need some basketball in your life). Relied too much on bullying and got a couple offensive fouls, should have had a couple more. Excited to see his role the next two years. Sharpie him in as a starter. Nolan also played Game 4. At his best when he’s out in transition, but missed an awful lot of make-able shots. Some good, some more not so good. The timidity we see at State seems like it is just how he plays. Give that guy a mean streak and I think he would be 3x more effective. This is all just like watching the Drew League, not anything to take too seriously. Rosters were thin - excited the guys who showed up did and hope more continue to throughout. Would be great feel-building for the season with Trey/Yanni, Flynn/Nathan, etc.

I also went and it was fun. We should bring our version of The Show there since theres a minimum of 2 aztecs or more per team.

Would be great feel-building for the season with Trey/Yanni, Flynn/Nathan, etc. Hate to whine but it was easier watching the videos with the sound off. 45 minutes into games the announcer was still calling players by their numbers. Had no sense of any local players, where they were from or where they're at now. Really weak. My bigger concern is that it looks like a run and gun league and I worry about bad habits bering reinforced. I assume the Aztec coaches can't help or even "advise" the coaches? But, hey, it's basketball and that's a start.

Was able to check out the first couple games. My thoughts...
- Overall really impressed at how organized it is (live stream, announcers, nice uniforms, etc.). I wasn't expecting something at that level. - Pretty cool event overall and great opportunity to see our guys in the summer as well as other local guys who we know and/or may have recruited - A number of the Aztecs/former Aztecs missed the game -- Pulliam, Feagin, Kell, Johnson were all guys I was excited to see play and they didn't make it. Not sure if it'll always be a little hit-or-miss with guys, but for anyone planning on going just know that the guys apparently aren't always going to be there - Wetzell looks like a skilled big. Seems comfortable with the ball in the open court and shooting from outside. Wasn't super noticeable in terms of being an impact guy, but I think games like these are always going to be more guard-friendly. - Joel Mensah still looks very raw offensively. He missed badly on the few outside shots he took. His length and defensive impact was noticable though -- he still seems like another year or so away, but I do see the potential long-term. - LaBradford Franklin was really good.

If Joel can give us solid defense, shot blocking and rebounding he should see minutes as a backup at the 5 this season. Skylar never really gave us much offensively during his career but he played plenty of minutes and more than made up for that on the defensive end. From what little I saw of Joel last season he appears to have some instincts on offense and playing in a league like this will give him some needed experience.

Anyone watch either Trey Pullium & Yanni Wetzell. Thoughts? What about KJ he was listed as a player, making all 12 Aztecs active.
