How many times have you seen a team dominate another team defensively but lose because of some lucky low percentage shots go in? If you are losing, just throw it up and see what happens. The 3 point shot most likely isn't going anywhere. Some will argue, but I personally think it has ruined basketball. Should they bring the peach baskets back too? It’s a different more exciting brand of basketball but it isn’t ruined. The three point shot, defensive rule changes, and a shift in coaching philosophy has created a really fun brand of basketball. Teams can no longer hand check or mug the opposition with overly physical play and hard fouls. Skill and movement reigns supreme. I much prefer watching Steph Curry and Dame Lillard’s balletic offensive talents to the bogged down game in which Bill Laimbeer and Charles Oakley’s brutish thuggery once flourished.

there are always going to be adjustments to the rules - as it should be as the game progresses . Guys have been shooting at the new distance before or have the time to make adjustments . Quality guys can make the adjustment as should teams . Also like the new reset rule to 20 seconds on offensive rebound .

the guys will have the whole summer/fall to work on their newer three point shot - would guess that the JAM center will get the new distance markings for those around - others may need to mark their own spots on their home practice areas
any thoughts on who is attending SS sessions this year

If I'm a coach, I'm packing it down 4 feet inside that line and daring opponents to shoot. I haven't seen a college basketball team that can make anything with consistency in at least 2 decades -- aside from maybe one crazy night when the Brown Bears came to a place call Viejas. Other than that...
The art of shooting is found back in the Paleozoic.

Other than that... The art of shooting is found back in the Paleozoic. Probably not a bad strategy for the first 2-3 years under the new distance. But, just like when the 3 point shot was first added, shooters will soon adapt. After all, it's still shorter than the NBA range. NBA players don't seem to have a problem with the longer distance.

would venture a guess guys similar to Malachi , Jordan S and others.... will be working on their three point shooting for a good part of the summer.
