Believe new 3 point line goes into play for 2019-20 season in D1
also reset on time clock - if a missed shot hits the rim- and the offensive team gets the rebound it gets 20 seconds on shot clock- it used to be a full 30 seconds
Coach can call time out during live play in the last 2 minutes of the first half , second half or OT . Last year believe playeron the court had to call time out during live action .

Wtf is the logic of 22' 1 3/4"? Is this some metric conversion? Seems kinda random at the least.

This could actually be good for SDSU because it provides more of an advantage to taller and more athletic teams that play solid defense. In other words, it will be harder for weaker teams to get a surprise win by having a good day launching up tons of 3FGs.

Good defensive teams will also be helped with the shorter shot clock on offensive rebounds.

It's all Golden State's fault.

Good for the game... but no bueno for average to below-average shooting teams (like our Aztecs). I think this is a good thing for bad shooting teams, especially if that means they already aren't taking many 3's. It's less bueno for teams that are 3-point reliant and take a lot of 3's (like last year's team).

If this is mirroring international rules, it will be 6.75 meters (22' 1 3/4") at the top of the arc, to 6.6 meters (21' 6 2/3") nearest the baseline.

It's all Golden State's fault. Oldie Out Ha Ha! Good one, execpt Golden State is in the NBA not college ball. So, what they do has no effect on us. I like the line being moved back, because it just might bring back a few more players who drive to the basket.

Shooting is still very valuable and be a big part of teams winning. Beyond the obvious easy math logic, having threats from three opens up driving lanes

I like the line being moved back, because it just might bring back a few more players who drive to the basket. I think what the NBA requires does affect the college level. It will be an easier shooting transition going from the NCAA to the NBA and/or International ball. The NCAA length is now what the NBA corners distance is and only approx 1 1/2 feet from the head of the NBA key. Previously it was 3 ft difference which is pretty substantial.

they asked Dutcher about the switch and he said he was all for it . Just so our shooters could hit their shots felt there maybe slight adjustment then it will be normal . Also liked the change to 20 seconds on reset for offensive rebound instead of the full 30 . He also can now call a time out during last 2 minutes of the end of a half or OT . Last year if live action it had to be a player on the court .
Know this rule is for D1 this year , while D2 gets money to pay for the new line . Wonder if it will be the same for JC .

Hell, we were routinely shooting from way behind the arc last year anyway. The new rule will spread out the court a bit more so we should see more balls being passed into the paint and defenders with length should have a bigger advantage over those without it.

This will help the blue bloods. The one great equalizer programs like Butler, Loyola, George Mason and others have had is the 3pt shot. This will drive % down. Hopefully SDSU’s new backcourt is up to the challenge.

they could move the 3 point line back to 30 feet. players will still be shooting 3's. go to just about any gym/rec center and see how many 7 and 8 year ads are trying to shoot threes.

How many times have you seen a team dominate another team defensively but lose because of some lucky low percentage shots go in? If you are losing, just throw it up and see what happens. The 3 point shot most likely isn't going anywhere. Some will argue, but I personally think it has ruined basketball.
