Did you watch the game today? You make a decision on the value of a player by watching One game?

Did you watch the game today? You make a decision on the value of a player by watching One game? How many times have you seen Myers break wrong on balls to the outfield?

He butchered one and dropped another today and it cost us the game. He also had 3 more K's and only got a "hit" because 3 Seattle fielders let it drop in the middle of them. He's now struck out 37%!!!!! of his plate appearances. And let's not forget Hedges: He popped up with the bases loaded in the 2nd and then threw high to Machado on the bunt in the 8th. If he's going to be in the lineup with his pathetic .180 BA, he HAS to make the defensive plays.

Yep, that's how bad Reyes is in the outfield.

In my opinion, there is no way Myers defense makes up for his lack of ability to put the ball in play consistently. I’ll take Reyes youth and 28 home runs over that any day of the week!

I’ll take Reyes youth and 28 home runs over that any day of the week! Everyone is disappointed with Wil Myers offense this season. You are correct his defense doesn't make up for his offense. No one was saying it does. We were only contesting the insinuation that Myers defense is worse than Reyes defense. That statement is pretty lame. The reason Reyes was traded and not Myers was their value. Myers has a negative trade value, while Reyes had a positive trade value. Myers has a much better chance of raising his level of offense to a point of positive value than Reyes has of raising his defense to a level of positive value. We can only hope Myers rediscovers his hitting that allowed him to post back to back seasons with 60 extra base hits and an OPS in each of those seasons in the .790 range. Meanwhile his sucks...we get it. No need to beat a dead horse. Hopefully the horse will at least trot again.

If it hasn't clicked by now, I'm not sure it ever wil (spelling intended).

Did you watch the game today? Looking at just a little bit of a players season one could say look at what Reyes has done in Cleveland. He is in a huge slump. It's really a pity not only because he's a good guy but also because you want trades to work out well for your trade partners. That way teams will look more positively on trades with you in the future

I dont think CLE is too worried about it. One reason they talked about dealing for Franmil was because he was under cheap club control until 2024 -- This was a deal for now, and the future.
I would think CLE is also still very pleased with their Mejia for Hand deal. Particularly since Roberto Perez has had a breakthrough offensively.
The Indians and Pads have been solid trade partners for years, going back to the old Joe Carter and Sandy Alomar deals! That deal for Alomar and Baerga helped launch the great mid 90's Tribe teams.
