I believe that Jalen still has until May 29th to pull his name out of the NBA draft and return to school (the rule is currently 10 days after the NBA combine)... www.ncaa.org/about/committed-change#flexibilityNot saying that Jalen will return to the Aztecs...but the door still open - for a few more days at least... More interesting is what Queta does...

Signed with an agent. Thought that was a killer for coming back?

He’s definitely in danger of not being drafted. He isn’t coming back.

Signed with an agent. Thought that was a killer for coming back? [ My understanding is that he still could sign with an agent and still come back...with that said...the probability of Jalen coming back is less than 100:1

Jalen is not coming back. I see Europe in his future. Great way to make a living.

Jalen is a good player, but his skinny body was always a concern for the NBA. My gut feeling is he will end up overseas. Kawhi went into the draft at the same age, but already had the perfect NBA body.
I really wonder if his draft prospects would have gone up if he would have stayed 2 years and gained some bulk? Not sure, but I think he really wants to be a professional athlete.

There are a lot worse fates than playing in like, Estonia, for hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. Dude will most likely choose that route if not drafted and it is totally understandable.

From what I have read, Jalen will have to eat a very controlled diet, with help from a nutritionist, to gain weight. I am hoping some team drafts him in the second round and puts him in a program. =]
I do not want him to come back. It would not be good for him or the team.

Make no mistake, it would be good for the team. Replacing a productive player like Jalen with crossed fingers and wishful thinking rarely leads to a positive outcome. As for Jalen, he will be better able to develop as a pro than as an Aztec. I wish him well.

More interesting is what Queta does... With his Lawsuit issues he may need to earn some money. Nowadays good players can make some good money playing abroad. It isn't the NBA, but it is a viable alternative. Still wish these kids would finish school and get their degree.

Another case of a guy leaving too early In Jalen’s case, I don’t think it’s a matter of leaving too early. Unless he was planning on moving in with me and eating what I do, he was never going to gain the weight he needs to have to survive in the NBA. Might as well have an extra two seasons getting paid overseas than wasting that time here.

Another case of a guy leaving too early Not at all. He is who he is. Coming back next year wouldn't have improved his stock or even game that much. At worst, he will be playing in Europe next season making 6 figures. He made the right decision. He is ready to move on and try his skills at the next level.

You can make good money in Europe but for the VAST majority of cases it's not going to be near enough to live off of the rest of your life, so he might need a degree. Yes, he could get his degree later, but that's a huge pain... people hate going back to school. If I were in his shoes I'd be real tempted to get my degree while it's convenient before I go overseas

No...at worse he'll be playing in the Philippines or Egypt or Turkestan for low 5 figures...like so many other former Aztecs Still...he'll be doing what he loves which is not a bad way to make a living... I do hope though...wherever he ends up...he'll find time to earn a degree. Remembering that there are 40 or so years, after his playing days are over, that he'll still need to earn an income

After done playing ball (4-5 years) went back to the real world finished school and started life with a nice little head start.
