Urias has been hot lately. this is a good sign. he should hit well in Cinn. Counting today (so far, after 3 AB's), Urias is hitting .333 this month.

I doubt it too, but it would not be the shock of the year. They went ultra conservative on Gore too, and are not likely contenders. But hey, only 8 GB of the wild card. Ultra conservative with Gore? How? Don't be obtuse, bud.

Ultra conservative with Gore? How? Don't be obtuse, bud. It was a serious question - Because they have been anything but from a development standpoint.

Sure about that, bucko? Agree to disagree. Positive - Because you can't back up your assertion with anything of substance. He threw roughly 60 innings last year and is likely going to double that this season while being in AA at 20 years of age. There is nothing conservative about what they are doing.

Ryan is God's gift to baseball knowledge. If you do not believe me, just ask him.

Man, you are one of my favorite posters on here, but I asked a question and you can't respond with anything but a personal attack. Fair enough. And I said nothing about myself anywhere in there. Your opinion on Gore isn't shared anywhere that I have seen, that's all. This isn't about me.

He may double it, if he pitches again this season. He's at 99 right now. How "conservative" SD plans to be w/ Gore will be determined next season, TBH. We will see if they keep him in bubble wrap, or fast track him as a prospect worthy of such. He should be in the show NEXT year, like other phenoms before him.

That's me. There is no right or wrong answer on THIS one, it's my opinion vs. yours. I was dumb to criticize you....pardon me. Its been a long day.

A 40% increase on its own while jumping two levels is not ultra conservative though by any stretch. He is going to be on the opening day roster next year, barring anything unforeseen.

The date doesn't really matter, the innings mandate trumps all of that. With the minor league season ending the first week of September, it's just a month. They are saving some bullets for the playoffs with Amarillo in the hunt, which makes a ton of sense given they have some other guys who can pick up the slack.

If he pitches again in the playoffs, yes I completely agree.
And I also agree, and know innings matter. Not date. I was referring to the innings he was at (99) at the time of the "shut down".

Since this thread was originally about Luis Urias, I just thought I would post the following: "Luis Urias can play short. It's the stop he has problems with."
From Nick Canepa's column in the U-T tomorrow (already posted online).
