Remember the name, in case you haven't already. I've been on record stating I think he will be the best pitching prospect in baseball by season's end. Today in Lancaster : 5 innings, 0 hits, 2 walks, 7 strikeouts. He picked off the first runner he walked immediately. His ERA is 1.15. His last start, he struck out 11 in 4 1/3 innings. He is not long for the Cal League.

I saw him pitch earlier this year in the worst start that he has had and he was still impressive. I agree he will be in double-a soon.

Probably around 110 is my guess. Amarillo is in his not so distant future.

There seems to be no need to rush him up to the majors. I’m glad to see he is mowing down the Cali League hitters this year.

I'd prefer to see him in a Padre uniform well into October.

Paddack last year had 10 starts at Lake Elsinore. Gore currently has six. For whatever that is worth.

Paddack (22) at LE, Peavy (20) at LE and Gore (20) so far. Pitcher | S/9 | WHIP | ERA | Inn/G | Paddack | 14.3 | 0.90 | 2.24 | 5.22 | Peavy | 12.3 | 1.035 | 3.08 | 5.54 | Gore | 12.9 | 0.67 | 1.15 | 5.22 |
I saw Peavy pitch at LE and remembered him being more dominant than the numbers show. All three were/are very impressive and dominant.

I think it's important to note in the case of Gore that the defense behind him is probably younger than anything they threw out in the Peavy era, which makes a pretty big difference when comparing the data. Another favorite stat of mine - Paddack had a strikeout percentage of 40.9%. Gore is currently at 40.2%.

Gets the start tonight in Rancho Cucamonga.
Went 4 innings, 0 hits, 1 run (earned), 3 BB, 6 K's, 69 pitches. No decision, as the Storm lost 3-2 in 10 innings.

Probably his worst of the year, especially with command. Struggled to get the feel all night. That was his final Cal League start. He will not pitch in next week's All Star Game.

Gore is the scheduled starter tonight at Lake Elsinore, as they host Inland Empire.

I was somewhat surprised when they announced this last week, but I get it. It makes no difference where he ends up really. He'll compete for a big league job in spring.

Tonight was....strange. Leadoff hitter took Gore deep to the opposite field down the line. Battled command issues again and an inconsistent strike zone to strike out 9, including the side to end the outing. But the most interesting part is the pitch count. He was at 81 pitches through 5, so I assumed they would just end it there. He went a season high 97 pitches.

And his pitching numbers are just stupid good.

Yes, he obviously never got to that number last year. I don't know what to make of it.
