We’re witnessing a huge step backwards in recruiting from the Dutcher administration. Not really surprised but it’s pretty telling that we end up on many initial lists of prospective schools by recruits but can’t close the deal. Wetzell averaged 5 points a game on a team that went 0-18 in conference. We beat out Idaho, Pacific, and USD for Pulliam. Our lone high school recruit is ranked 307 in the country by 24/7 sports. Feegin seems like the most promising pickup but only here for a year.
I’ve seen posts on this board about us having to pull scholarships of current players, this staff can’t even fill the number of open ones we have. People on the board will say this post is pessimistic but it’s true.

maybe we should take a realistic look at where we were last year 4 th -5th place in MW . Who did we lose Both guards and Jalen . Maybe AG . Did add 3 decent guards , grad transfer that did not start for an 0-18 team and a true Freshman that will see how long it takes to make the adjustment to college - .
Nevada lost a lot but is adding others , Fresno lost some key guys but has added numerous guys . But did we lose even more ? Even another assistant coach.
We have numbers 12 scholarships being used but take serious look at the front court players.
Thoughts on where we will be picked in the way too early predictions for MW . USU, Nevada , Fresno, Lobos , all seem to be quality teams .
also even the out look for 2020

sky is not falling but sure looks pretty overcast . Thoughts on what place we might finish in MW ..... This is San Diego, we always have the May gray and June gloom.... I must be the only person on this board that thinks we will have a better team next year.

Per the MW connection article that I provided in response to Stan's request for projections...you would be correct if the projection plays out. We would be better next year.

Queta from Utah St will be drafted in the 1st or 2nd round. Without him, they will not be in the top 3. Article had Jalen coming back, but he will also get drafted. I think it will be Nevada and SDSU for the championship next year.

I don’t see progression of skills. I am sure it’s a lot of different factors so not going to speculate.

Bottom line, it's kind of silly to try to project in March what things will look like almost a year later. All teams are still recruiting, injuries will occur, so forth. But, I have no problem with the notion that we will be better next year. I don't think things are "overcast".

Feagin is a good get as well, likely more offense than Germ but not as much defense. Pullian is supposed to be good with the ball screen offense. Did you read the article where Dutcher said we couldn't run that type of offense because neither Watson or Germ were very comfortable with it? We didn't lose AG, he had surgery. I expect him to be at full practice before the season begins. As for the other two you mention, I don't like to rag on guys who have yet to play a game for us, not like some on here.
