and yet the Padres look like the 2000's Pad's. Machado looks like a 30k player rather than a 300 mill player. Oh goodie!

11 runs today. It's a long season we will forget about April in the dog days of August.
4-3 on the road against the Nationals and Braves is a strong positive. Any team would take that.

The Pads hit near the Mendoza line for April and yet are a game out of first heading into their first showdown with the Dodgers - that is frikkin' remarkable. They aren't gonna hit this shitily all season long and you can bet your bippy that Machado is going to heat up. But hey, if you want to wet-blanket like so many other AM posters, knock yourself out. For the rest of us, we'll be here being excited for the Pads for first time in a decade.

Sadly Azson you have not been here for over 20 years. Yes, a 300 million player is "consistent." Manny is great no doubt but has not been a consistent player yet. Hopefully he will be by this summer. He sure has spectacular potential. Let's hope he beat up on Kershaw tomorrow.

It is a pretty safe bet that the Padres will score more and give up more runs in May.

Just because I've been living in Nor Cal for the last 30th years doesn't mean I haven't bled any less over each losing season.
