El Paso ended a 12 game winning streak. They are now 19-8. They are now 2.5 games ahead of the "high flying" Las Vegas team. Yes they are, but at the time of the original post, the Aviators had the best record in the minor leagues. Not any more. At least the people in Las Vegas are enjoying their new ballpark, as they lead the league in attendance, which is something they never did in their 36 years at Cashman Field. For El Paso, a .313 team batting average, and 70 HR's in 30 games--those are almost video game numbers.

Interesting note on El Paso--they now have 81 HR's in 33 games. The record for HR's by one team in a season is 231 by Omaha in 1999. In 141 games.
