so does Yanni move out Nolan N ? More important is IF we can get the forward from CAL or UNLV . What are coaches thoughts on Joel M and the new freshman we have coming in ? Why would anyone think that a guy who was pretty mediocre on an 0-for-18-in-conference-play team "move out" an established backup role player who has several years experience in the Aztecs' system? SMDH at this notion.

I was trying to say why would we want to add Yanni - pretty much saying to Nolan - sorry . Unless Nolan has told the coaches he will graduate and leave ?
Focus on getting quality transfers that may have to sit a year but then be a starter going forward. Plus the grad transfer from UNLV or is that a lost opportunity ?
Also is Joel M trying to play at the 4 or 5 position ?

Yanni was pretty efficient last year and shot the 3 well in D2 play, if he can shoot he'd be of great help (yes i know his three point shot struggled in limited attempts last year).

Of all grad transfers I am with you. Not a game changer, or a solid roster spot. May be a 10 & 5 guy at best if he started, I guess he is good enough for Final Four Texas Tech, so maybe he is good enough for us

I would be happy with that production, but he isnt going to replace McD and there are other Grad Transfers with better numbers and experience. I am not saying he sucks. I do know that Texas Tech fans want him to come play in Lubbock, however, there is not surf in the Panhandle. Here's 15 reasons Yanni should come play with the Aztecs: Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Tourmaline Surfing Park, Silver Strand State Beach, Imperial Beach Pier, Windansea, La Jolla , La Jolla Shores, Scripps Pier, Blacks Beach, Del Mar City Beach, Beacon’s, Grandview, Encinitas Oceanside Pier, Oceanside, Cardiff Reef between Seaside Beach and Tide Beach Park.

I agree he is not a replacement for McDaniels, however he would give us some strong minutes in the 5.

I haven't seen the guy play, but in my mind this would be a good pickup. Nate is super foul prone, and I don't see that changing much next year. So we need someone who can play some minutes in the middle. Nate got better eliminating some of his ticky tack fouls later in the season.

so believe we are at 11 scholarships (after signing the JC guard transfer ) so do we try to find out if we have an opportunity with the forward transfer from CAL , or the grad transfer from UNLV, plus the hope for Jaden ?
Also would be important to find out what Nolan plans for 2019

Vandy losing 5 of top 7 scorers; however today signed, Scotty Pippen, Jr. KJ Martin could be next. New HC former NBA player Jerry Stackhouse making moves. Wetzell transfer should visit this weekend. NBA style game, above slightly average offensively, can finish around the rim. Not a huge rim protector type. (ala Izundo, Sky, Nathan)

It really seems like Wetzell is Narain with a "little more" of a post up game. Both can play the 5 without the power or aggression around the rim needed be successful. While also not having the athletic abilities or quickness to play the 4. They are both good players but we don't need both. I would think that Wetzell would be an upgrade and that Narain would move onto another program if Wetzell signs. BIG mistake if both are on the team next year!

Any player for one year > unused scholarship. How many minutes, fouls, rebounds, points will a you get from an empty spot on the bench?

Either the coaching staff know Narain's plans to transfer and are therefore going to sign Wetzell or they are recruiting Wetzell in case Norain transfers and will wait to offer once they know Narain's decision. I dont see both being on the team team year.
