Maybe so. But since we won the head-to-head you cant say, accurately, that they out performed us at every level. You are right. I wasn’t speaking precisely. That's the danger of using words like never, always, all every, etc.

They had more wins and fewer losses. Their big wins were bigger than ours and their bad losses were both fewer and less severe. They finished first in conference play repeatedly. They built at-large bid level resumes. They received publicity and national coverage. Every year, they had multiple all conference level players including POY candidates. Caleb Martin actually won POY. They had more players receiving NBA interest. They spent significant time ranked in the Top 25. They had more NCAA appearances and had more wins.

I think it speaks to the state of our program. We have been out performed at every level by the Wolfpack. Some have pointed to our coaching changes to excuse our descent into mediocrity. I think it’s important to see if Nevada can continue to out perform the Aztecs. This is a team that has lost nearly every rotation player to graduation and it’s entire coaching staff in the offseason. They also lost multiple athletes (players and recruits) because of the coaching change. Alford’s first year is far more challenging than the one Dutcher faced. If Nevada can better weather the storm of a simultaneous full regime and roster change then they’ve truly become the class of the conference. Let''s not act like Alford is without talent. Nevada still has lot of talent, the test will be what alford does with his guys. Dutcher had a successful year 1. Nevada will finish ahead of us. Alford > Dutcher. By a loooooooooooooooooong ways.

Alford is a control freak , but can recruit ( helped by Noodles ) and can coach - but it is his way or the highway
Will be very interesting to se if he can get J . Brown to return - if not already working on quality HS guy or grad transfer - he has a lot of connections - also sells how he has gotten guys to NBA , but major key for them is if they can get Brown to come back . He has told Brown that they will build the team around him and get back to MM this year .
