Here's our OOC shedule based on Final 2019 Kenpom rankings. Is it really that bad? Yes our home games suck, but is the entire schedule awful? The Aztecs were ranked #125 in 18/19.
Texas So #195 (H) BYU #86(A) GCU #111 (H) USD #90 (A) LIU #263 (H) Tenn State #292 (H) Crieghton #55 (N) Iowa #37 (N) Texas Tech #5 (N) Utah #109 (N) Cal Poly #334 (H)

Yea, it’s bad unless we run the table or lose just once.

just wondering do we have a T to play in next year and maybe can schedule a game with a school in Baltimore area for Che next year or the following year
Agree - with the poor group at home does make All Home games need to win and most of the road games to get a chance at being rated

think if we play Iowa they will be good and physical- could be very important game in this T with only 2 games and then early MW games -
also never know about Utah - is on neutral court and things can get weird At BYU with large crowd - elevation and just BYU stuff

Bumping this thread because I want to. Soria still searching for a game as of the end of August. We are looking for a high major to start a home and home, with the 2019 game away from Viejas on either Nov. 15/16 or Dec. 11. Ideally a return game in 2020, but I HOPE that we aren’t still tied to this no one-off/2 for 1 strategy - we NEED to accept our scheduling disadvantages and embrace it. **I’ll shoot my shot here and say we get SMU in December.** Likely that a home game has already been scheduled for Dec. 13/14th or the 18th. Likely not a big game. SMU released their schedule this morning. No games between December 7th and December 20th. SDSU still has nothing scheduled between December 8th and December 21st. Looks like this one was just too hard to get done.

Game #29 announced, San Diego Christian. Epic inner city showdown! Battle of San Diego, part 2! Us vs Them. Are. You. Ready?!? I can reach out to my old HIGH school, to see if they are interested in a matchup. Call the Big West and schedule the UCSB, Irvine, Long Beach of the World. WCC: St Mary’s? Gonzaga? This is a failure.

Game #29 announced, San Diego Christian. Sorry Dutch, have a hard time believing that this is the ONLY school you could have scheduled. It's embarrassing. Also can't imagine that playing them a couple nights before Utah will be a good warm up for a Pac 12 team.

Game #29 announced, San Diego Christian. Didn't Matt Soria personally tell someone on here to expect a quality opponent to fill the schedule? Matt Soria, please pick up the white courtesy phone...

Not a great opponent, but I'm happy to get to see one more game this season.

Matt said that they were "looking for a quality opponent" to fill the schedule, and not to expect 28 games schedule to be final. Aztecs were trying to get another home game in Decemeber outside of finals week.

The fact is, in the Dutcher regime, home non-conference schedules progressively have gotten worse every season. And some would argue his teams have performed likewise. This is not a good recipe for a program whose primary goal is to qualify for the NCAA tournament.

With what they are charging for tickets, we should get better quality opponents. I have heard excuses far too long. Absolutely pathetic and inexcusable. Nothing to be gained by playing San Diego Christian. I would rather watch a scrimmage between our team. I gotta believe our second team is better than this opponent. No disrespect to their school but this is just an epic failure as others have said. They have one more season to improve the schedule or I am done with basketball. I can’t possibly be the only one who feels this way.

Dilbert and Dutcher are complete morons. Not only did they schedule a high school team but it had to be on a Wednesday night?? I guess the fear of losing to Pt. Loma was too much for Dutcher. We need to schedule legit D1 teams. All Dutcher has done the last two years is put a weak schedule to get to 20 wins (Stat padder). All I know is Dutcher the past two year has had slow starts to the season and has perform poorly against weaker competition. Also Ziggler has been too nice to Dutcher were he needs to call him out on it? All I hear from Dutcher is excuses, excuses, and excuses. Im tired of this BS Dutcher is trying to pull. Man up and say your afraid to play D1 teams because his goal is not to make the NCAA tournament its just to get to 20 wins albeit against weak competition.

8 Games in November, 4 at Viejas & 2 on the road, 2 neutral 5 Games in December, 2 MWC, 3 at Viejas & 1 on the road, 1 neutral
Bigger concern are (4) guys not able to practice due to injury/surgery: Nolan, Nathan, Matt & Aguk and we're 30 days away from the MBB Season.
