Because football and basketball makes gobs of money and the coaches don’t like players transferring. They are already working to end the grad transfer exemption.

would guess at least a few of the transfers are waiting to see - who ends up actually leaving their college team for the pros - check out openings for schools ? Would also expect guys to visit the schools they are considering or doesn't that matter any more ?
Can Sueing see if he can play right away - since his former coach is no longer at CAL ?
could be a very interesting time for Dutcher to try to get a quality guy or two ?
Is the basketball banquet for this year's team May 6 -
any rumors after that event if any of our current guys might be leaving ? besides the 2 seniors and Jalen ?

OK, now I'm confused. I thought this thread was about Shakur Juiston, the guy who played for UNLV. But someone said "Cal's best player". Who is the topic of discussion?

Hey Stan, Have you ever posted without asking a question? LOL!!!!....That's all he does. He wants everybody else to do the work for him.....Whenever I see that a question is being asked, I look to see if it's him.....and it usually is.

Like most threads here on AM this one took a turn off the tracks. It started as a discussion of Juiston but morphed into a discussion of Sueing. I didn't even notice it until your post. LOL.

With Menzies going to Grand Canyon, Juiston may go there.

With Menzies going to Grand Canyon, Juiston may go there. Haven't heard a peep. Any source? Just curious. Menzies stepping backward to AHC at GCU after HC at New Mexico State and UNLV. Must have dirt

The Antelopes have not made the NCAA Tournament in six years as a Division I program. However, if I'm not mistaken, they were 2-0 against the Aztecs in hoops just as South Alabama was 2-0 against us in football. Must be kryptonite.

From the LV Sun 4.17.19 lasvegassun.com/news/2019/apr/18/coaching-staff-talent-level-and-more-unlv-question/Q: Chance Juiston returns?A: Not good. That prediction isn’t based on any inside information, because Shakur Juiston has kept his transfer process pretty quiet. But just assessing the situation — the coach who recruited him is gone, he can leave and be eligible immediately, and he has a bunch of suitors who are virtual NCAA-tournament locks — there aren’t many reasons for Juiston to stick around unless he either loves the UNLV experience or believes in Otzelberger.

GCU is kind of a joke university, they spend more on marketing and advertising the profit university rather than academics and education. Taking an AHC wasn't the step backwards. Sorry GCU, isnt the most reputable place.

Sorry GCU, isnt the most reputable place. Whether or not GCU is a "reputable place" is irrelevant. No matter what you think about the "school", their basketball team is pretty darn good, Dan Majerle is a pretty good Head Coach, and they are paying Marvin more than what UNLV was obligated to pay him on his buyout (I believe he was owed $800k over 2 years, according to the article I posted). Being paid more than $400k per year as Asst HC is pretty nice, plus he gets to sit back and learn from a guy who will probably be a Pac12 HC sometime in the next three years or so.

he is coaching again - plus if he can bring in some transfers would bump up his resume for other openings
But hope Shakur comes to the AZTECS - have not heard much about where he is looking

I've not seen a single comment where this guy has ever expressed interest in coming to SDSU. The only information appears to be from a UNLV BBall Twitter account from weeks ago. Understand sometimes players or coaches can't comment on potential recruits but this would be a really well-kept secret. The guy is a stud so hopefully, there is something here but much like Hommes, I wouldn't hold out a ton of hope.
