totally agree - time for all the guys to buy into playing D and rebounding not just a couple of the guys . play solid D and hit the boards can keep you in most games . important for practices to get the message out early. Will be interesting to see what guys step up next year Nevada will reload . We lose three starters but having experienced new guards helps . Other teams could be improved as most are young or are adding guys I agree about D and rebounding but, seems to me the offense we have been running lately with double high post and everyone circling the 3 pt line who is gonna rebound?

Rebounding requires talent and skill. Watson might want the ball but he doesn’t have the bulk, length, or hops to make it happen. Narain isn’t a rebounder.

Narain plays like a guy that is new to our system, not somebody who has been in it a few years. Often times out of position, not paying attention e, etc. At times you get a taste of how good he could be if he could keep focused.

Going to need some one to back up Nathan at the 5 . Does Joel N want and have the ability to do it in 2019. Or does Nolan transfer after he graduates this summer ?
Also going to be interesting to progress of Adam S. Joel M, Ed C are with the 2019 roster ? plus new freshman KJ

Didn't really see much from Seiko even though he got substantial playing time . I think He, Joel and Ed Chang will all make a big leap next year however.

Unless something changes, we’ll have the same guys playing the same roles.

Nolan seems like the most likely to transfer if anybody does. He could get a lot of playing time in a smaller program. As a graduate he wouldn’t have to sit out. There’s been some comments that Mitchell would or could transfer. With the amount of playing time he gets already I’d be surprised if he goes anywhere. Although if he got in a program where they really hammered him to lose weight get quicker and absorb more fundamentals, the transfer might be worth it for him.

I am getting the impression that some posters are trying to give NN reasons to transfer out. Same with Chang. These guys are Aztecs4Life. Leave 'em alone

Leave 'em alone I don't think that anything a poster puts up about transferring is new information to any college athlete nowadays. I don't want anyone to transfer but if I was NN, I would see that I will never start next year and may have some of my minutes taken away by an improved J Mensah. Why wouldn't someone want to possibly go somewhere else and get some playing time in for his last year of basketball? I don't get the feeling that anyone on this board wants Chang to transfer. With his offensive talents, rawness, apparent good attitude and significant athletic potential, why would they?

With Feagin it goes something like this:
PG: Flynn, Seiko (CG) SG: Feagin (CG), Shakel SF: Mitchell, Arop, Chang PF: McDaniels (NBA), Mensah, Johnson C: Mensah, Narain
We have 12 scholarship players now. McDaniels + McDaniels two TBDs.

going to really need the current freshmen to step up
We lose a lot of scoring and leadership - also after the way we have played lately do we lose some guys to transfers ?
Who would you guess to be early favorites for top teams in MW next year ? USU and .....

He doesn’t have a natural feel for rebounding. He seems to be surprised by the way the ball bounces after a missed shot. He appears to have short arms and weak hands

I don't see the problem with Dutcher urging Mitchell to shed some pounds. If Mitchell gets lighter, quicker and has more stamina it's a win-win as he may score more and hold onto his minutes.

His whole family is on the bigger side. Matt is in good shape and it may be a big challenge to lose weight. I wouldn’t expect it. I think him cutting down the fouls and focus on his shooting will propel him to becoming a star on next year’s team. His size can be an advantage

I believe at one point yesterday he had 4 turnovers and 0 points. He misses lots of shots in the 4 or 5 foot range, seems to always be short. Maybe learn to use the back board, that way a gentle touch is not needed as much

Mitchell’s HS coach attributed his late bloom to getting into better shape.
