Feagin on playing with Malachi Flynn:
I actually played against Malachi at Santa Clara, and I have a lot of respect for his game. I saw him at practice (Thursday), and I could just see our games meshing really well. He’s more of a dynamic scorer than me. I have the ability to get him the ball if he gets going. There’s no ego coming from my end at all.
Sounds like we're recruiting the right types of players.

I hope he plays real good D because the defense we played the other night was incredible!

At times we already have Hemsley bring it up and start the offense when Devin is out there. I’d imagine we won’t be able to distinguish between these two who our starting 1 is and who our starting 2 is.

He shot 50% from 3 as a sophomore attempting 5.5 3’s per game and 39% last year ... solid penetration and mid range game ... and taller and thicker than Watson. A huge pickup, and with Flynn... dare I say an upgrade from this years starting backcourt. With Jordan and Seiko the guards are looking solid next year.

Has he fully recovered from his injuries ?
Do like the fact that he is 80% + in FT just need to get to the line more often

Does anyone know why access to all tapes/videos of his play seem to be blocked?
And, how to view them?

Any word if KJ F. has completely healed from his injury ? Did it say he participated in a practice while here ?.
So he should graduate in June , be able to participate in SS 2 session to work with the coaches/team mates and start to learn the system for both Defense and offense

We are going to be REALLY good at the guard position next year with this commit!! I went back and watched Malachi's highlight videos just now, and wow...just wow! You throw Schakel into the group and I can't remember us ever having three guys on the roster that can shoot like those 3 guys. But, what makes Feagin, and especially Flynn, so dynamic is their ability to create their own shots. Watson is good, but Feagin is as good IMO, and Flynn is better.

great to have scorers , but also need some one that defends and rebounds from the guards . Also hope they are good at getting the ball to team mates to get some balanced scoring .

I’d love a defensive stopper please

Yep, I said that same thing in a different thread. You know how mix tapes roll, it's all about the scoring baby! Dutch comes from the Fisher school of coaching, so if either Feagin or Flynn are not adept at defending, that will be a focus. I would guess that with Flynn in the program, and practicing with the team, that he knows what is expected on the defensive side of things. An article in the UT after Feagin committed quoted him as saying that he sees Flynn as the more dynamic scorer of the two of them, and that Feagin looks forward to being a facilitator for Flynn. I like that attitude, but the truth is that both of the guys have been facilitators as well as scorers for their prior teams. Dutch was quoted in the same article as saying that the two of them will be somewhat interchangeable, which gives you lots of options, with Seiko being a seasoned vet next year as well. I like how we are situated up top for next year, and think that defending will NOT be a weakness at the very least.

Great to have guards that can score and hopefully able to get the ball to team mates so we have balanced offense . At times that has been a problem Would hope that defense is noted by Malachi and the importance of even the guards rebounding .
also helps if you have guys with high FT% to get them to the FT line often .

Aguek will be critical to next year’s defense. He’s our most versatile defender and he’s a good rebounder. His versatility may be muted a bit as he’s likely to guard the four position spending less time on the wing.

totally agree - time for all the guys to buy into playing D and rebounding not just a couple of the guys . play solid D and hit the boards can keep you in most games . important for practices to get the message out early. Will be interesting to see what guys step up next year
Nevada will reload . We lose three starters but having experienced new guards helps . Other teams could be improved as most are young or are adding guys
