How many games have you watched this season? He’s played the four for most of the year. It wasn’t until Schakel went to the bench that Mitchell started to see minutes on the wing. i've watched every game (not completely). we tried to play 4 guards, and 1 big (McDaniels) at the beginning of the year, otherwise known as 4-1 offense. In that offense there are no "forwards", there are 4 guards and 1 post. if you look closely you will see McDaniels now spread out like a 4th guard. so there it is, we are still primarily playing with 1 true post. For reference the article below should give you a good idea of what Dutcher and Company are trying to do. team.fastmodelsports.com/2016/03/14/villanova-wildcats-four-out-motion-offense/You’ve provided a link describing an offense. Basketball is played on two ends of a court. Mitchell was being asked to defend and rebound against other teams fours. Off the dribble, Mitchell prefers to play a physical style of basketball. When he’s being defended by longer and stronger defenders he isn’t able to play to that strength. He doesn’t have the quickness or athleticism to blow by those guys and finish. So, he was taking a bunch of threes. Jamaal Franklin has been described as playing the four. Offensively, he had the ball on his hand. He was taking people off the dribble, passing, shooting from the outside, creating/finishing in transition and drawing fouls on drives. However, he also had the responsibility of being the team’s primary rebounder while being tasked with defending 4s.

That should have sewed it up for Feagin.

That should have sewed it up for Feagin. My sentiments exactly, no place on his list can touch that environment. We picked a good night to play our tails off and get a huge W.

Went to same high school as Tony Gwynn. How could he not choose Aztecs. He’s a legacy!

This is the type of guy we need to be able to land. It's nice to be in the conversation for top recruits like Ellis and Jaden McD but those don't consistently pan out for non-bluebloods. This a proven player that immediately changes the outlook for next season. With all the turnover that seems to be happening in college basketball, these are the types of opportunities that make the most sense for SDSU to pursue. I hope we reel him in, last night had to help.

I just watched some highlights...he's a scorer, no doubt. Put him with Flynn and you have possibly the top guard tandem in the MWC next year. Jay Morris was the primary recruiter. I think we might like what Morris and Palmer bring in going forward.

Great pickup. We will have an experienced back court next year with Flynn and Feagin. Plus Seiko has been giving us some quality minutes this year.
