This was a miserable hire from day one and as an alumnus freely shared my opinion. This university could have done SO much better, say, along the lines of a Bill Self. We'll see what the future holds and what next "exciting news" I'll be receiving regarding the next hire. Now, someone please explain to me what this has to do with Aztec athletics, currently buried in their own issues.

If UCLA were smart, they'd hire Musselman.

If UCLA were smart, they'd hire Musselman. He'd have to tone down the histrionic sideline drama and his shirtless celebration antics.

I bet the Lobos would take him back if he was properly penitent.

Alford seemed to get great recruits. Could not do much with them. Rather exposed his abilities as a coach, I reckon.

If Fresno is strong in conference and has a good post season I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hutson get an interview.
When Hutson left for UNLV we struggled. When Hutson left for Fresno we dropped off huge. Look who he’s recruited. Extremely respected. He could be hired away and would make UCLA the job he stays at as long as he could.
I think a lot of programs don’t want to invest big money into Musselman until he proves what he can do without the Martin twins and Caroline. I also believe he wants to get back to the NBA at some point.

If Musselman returns to the NBA he will have the opportunity to coach some of his former UNR players.

If UCLA were smart, they'd hire Musselman. Musselman dream job.. He turned down the Cal job a few years back for an opportunity for the UCLA or Arizona job..

If UCLA does not hire Musselman, they will regret it. Think what he would do with UCLA resources.
UCLA will be looking to see how far Nevada goes this year. It they make it to the sweet 16, most likely it is done. If higher, it is a lock.

UCLA only hired Alford because he could beat the Aztecs and UCLA lost to us in the Wooden. The Bruins are a desperate program with an elitist ego that will prevent them from any real success.

He's skyrocketed that Nevada program in such a short period of time. He'll have a ton of success at UCLA if he leaves for that job

Fired for losing to Liberty. Then what do you get for losing to Brown? An extension?

Fired for losing to Liberty. Then what do you get for losing to Brown? An extension? Well, if you really want to continue with dumb comparisons, Alford was in his 6th year at UCLA. That means Dutcher should be fired in the 2023-24 season.

Fired for losing to Liberty. Then what do you get for losing to Brown? An extension? We already gave an extention to Dutcher during this past summer.. It was a head scratcher since other programs werent calling to take him away.. Reminds me of the current USC head football situation were you give unmerrited extentions and sets back program for years. Steve Alford was on a one year contract with a 3 mil buyout.. A booster might have walked up to UCLA ADs office and happily wrote the check after the game.

Really wish the Aztecs would hire him. He did not fare well at UCLA, but always thought Alford was a solid coach.

There's Fred Hoiberg buzz for the UCLA job.
I follow Iowa St. athletics and he'd be a great choice. A proven winner at the college level, NBA experience, not a spaz on the sidelines, great calm demeanor, etc. At ISU they called him "The Mayor". I heard one reason Hoiberg left ISU is because he hates recruiting, but at UCLA the school basically recruits itself.
