Per MLB.com, the Padres are looking to add Corey Kluber via trade with the Cleveland Indians. Austin Hedges, Manuel Margot and Hunter Renfroe are names which could be a part of the deal. Since being traded by the Padres in 2010 for essentially nothing, Kluber has enjoyed spectacular success with the Indians, winning 2 Cy Young awards and posting a 20-7 record with a 2.89 ERA last year. Kluber, 33 years old next season would be the most significant pitcher ever traded for by the Padres. He has 5 consecutive 200+ inning seasons and his superlative sinker should play well in Petco.
A legit staff ace.

Acee refuted this almost immediately after Morosi's article came out. Probably much ado about nothing when the Indians don't have a real motivation to move Kluber now that they've cleared salary.

It wouldn’t be the winter meetings without rumors. Spend the money I say. I want a rotation of Kluber, Syndegaard, Yuchi Kikuchi, Stroman and Bauer damit and I want it by New Years Day!

I didn't see this rumor as credible. I am sure the two GM's talked some basic parameters, but that would be a lousy deal for Cleveland. My guess is that Cleveland was seeing early on if they could unload Kluber or Bauer for a top young OF like Verdugo +Joc Pederson from the Dodgers, and supposedly there was alot of traction on those talks. Cleveland has a surplus of good, controllable pitching but their OF is a mess right now.
But then LAD moved Puig and Kemp to Cincinnati, so they no longer have as rich of OF depth they did have, and CLE unloaded salary in other areas with different trades.
If you're Cleveland, you certainly are not excited about Hedges and Margot, neither of whom have shown they can hit worth a damn at the major league level. Truth be told, Margot was not even a standout minor league ballplayer, he didnt even OPS out at .800 in the minors and shows little pop. He is no more intriguing than the options the Indians already have but aren't sure of, kids like Greg Allen (SDSU!), Bradley Zimmer, and Leonys Martin.
Renfroe is the only name that stands out, to me. He is at least useful as a platoon guy because he crushes LHP (1.077 OPS vs. sub .700 against RHP) and he has legitimate 30+ HR potential.

If I am running the Tribe operations, no way I am moving Kluber unless I'm getting a combination in return that looks like Renfroe, Buddy Reed, and one of either Morejon/Baez/Quantrill. Obviously, you go in knowing Tatis, Urias, Gore, and probably Paddack are untouchable.

I would have to agree with this, the Indians still have the Starting Pitching to make a run at another WS and frontline aces are at a premium right now.

if the indians dont think they can win in the next two years, getting rid of Kluber before he reaches 35 will bring them max trade value.

Looks like Kikuchi signed with the Mariners.
