Interesting offer. Compared to Salazar and Baker
Joe Green (6'4 and 205 lbs).....As a senior, Green was 192/309 for 2,579 yards (234.5 yards/game) and 19 TDs and 3 INTs. Also rushed 79 times for 218 yards and 4 TDs In his 3 years varsity (Soph-Sen), he was 403/611 for 5,100 yards (221.7 yards/game) and 44 TDs and 9 INTs. He also rushed 144 times for 214 yards and 6 TDs
Mark Salazar (6'3 and 185 lbs)....In 3 years varsity (Fr,Jr-Sr), he was 259/381 for 3,515 yards (125.5 yards/game) and 32 TDs and 11 INTs. He also rushed 57 times for 256 yards and 7 TDs
Carson Baker (6'3 and 195 lbs)....In 2 years varsity (Soph, Sr), he was 203/301 for 3,107 yards (155.4 yards/game) and 43 TDs and 4 INTs. He also rushed 81 times for 355 yards and 6 TDs

If you’re going to have a scholar, might as well have him at QB.

So would our coaches see him as good game manager, or a QB that can throw the ball , running the ball maybe 2 to 3 of yards per game his senior season
What is the game plan for recruiting a QB - what kind of QB do the coaches want ?

We did have good luck with the last QB who came here who no longer wanted to be an Ivy League QB.
He helped lead us to end the long bowl drought and had a decent NFL career as a DB.

Most important is what type of QB do we want and how would the coaches use him ? Do we want QB that is an important part of the offense pass / run or basically game manager ? that can hand off

Can't beat the weather in SoCal, another big selling point in recruiting. Oldie Out Yes, I am sure coaches of southern california football teams USE the whole weather selling point. But, it's not something anywhere near the top of a recruits list. So, if weather is the coaches BIG selling point, then we're f****d. There are so many more things about a program and staff that need to be the BIG selling point rather than weather lol.

Really like the pickup. He’s got size, arm strength and is obviously a bright guy. Hope he can be that QB we’ve been missing.
