Sod Poodles are prairie dogs. Lol...I know that. Guess it's easier to dress a guy up in a prairie dog outfit than an 18 wheeler, piece of jerky, or the other two losing entries.

By the way--the laying of the sod is complete at the new ballpark. But you can't see it under the snow cover.

I don't know, a big truck or piece of jerky sounds better than The Sod Poodles. The Amarillo Prairie Dogs would have been just fine. Hope the hats are cool like the Chihuahuas are though.

So, apparently the team does not own the trademark for the name. The guy who does won't sell it. What a crazy story.

The guys that have the trademark for "Amarillo Sod Poodles" probably thought they could make a bundle. You just know this will end up in court. IF I owned a team, that would certainly stop me from listing a number of possible nicknames in advance for a new franchise--or get the trademarks for names before showing the possible names to the world.
