If, you happened to watch some of the U$C vs. ASU game Saturday you would have seen something very interesting. I'm not referring to the great catch Harry made even though it was spectacular! No, I am talking about the attendance at the Masoleum in LA. When the camera showed the stands it was about half empty.
I know USC is not having their usual great season this year, but they had only a little over 47,000 in the stands when they usually would have about 35 to 40K more on average. I was really surprised at the number of empty seats even on the home side of the stadium. Just shows you that even a big P5 program like U$C can have attendance problems when you don't win.
Congrats to Herm Edwards & his team for pulling off their first road victory this season also!

Have a feeling that their coach is on the way out.

If only our smallest crowd since 2001 had been 47,000.

Congrats to Herm Edwards & his team for pulling off their first road victory this season also! In 1978, the year I completed my graduate degree at UCLA, the Pac-8 added two schools from the WAC. In 2011 it added a MW and a Big 12 school.
IMHO, these four programs, while experiencing modest success in the conference, have done nothing to enhance the major sports image of the PAC 12.
Further, IMHO, these additions have done nothing more than dilute the talent spread around these programs. As such, not being the SEC, the Big-10 or for that matter, the
ACC, at this point, there are no more big boy programs in the conference. Which, by the way, means I have a better chance of winning the California Lottery than State has of ever being invited into the conference.
For LA? Heaven forbid, USC just might lose it's city throne to the "gulp" undefeated Rams or the energized Lakers. (At least for now).

Keep buying those California Lottery tickets. Then, you can win a billion dollar lottery prize, move Viejas Arena wherever you want to, and rebuild your beloved RetiredAztec Bowl.
