On a side note because I didn't want to create a new thread...
It looks like Brazil is going to elect a person who longs for the days of a dictatorship, bashes ethnic minorities, bashes minority religions, and bashes the poor. Sounds like Trump's new BFF.

I will defer to Dick Durbin, if you are "innocent" and a squeaky clean choir boy that lifted more weights than beers what do you have to fear from an FBI investigation other than a colonoscopy revealing Senator Grassley's head up your arse?

This political theme is getting old. The general public and our elected officials on both sides have grown tiresome and don't give a flying two fμck§ anymore. We're still # 1 though. As long as you believe it.

The hearing today was to address the allegations made by Dr. Ford. Evidently, all necessary investigations of those allegations have been completed to the satisfaction of the committee majority. Therefore, we can only make our decisions based upon the testimony of the 2 witnesses. Dr. Ford was clear and consistent in her replies to questions. She seemed very credible. Kavanaugh constantly evaded questions and seemed particularly uncomfortable whenever the incident alleged by Dr. Ford was raised. Overall, Dr. Ford was more credible than Judge Kavanaugh. After viewing Judge Kavanaugh's comportment during the hearing and after the wild conspiracy theory he voiced in his statement I am concerned as to whether he should be a Supreme Court Justice. Why do people say Dr. Ford was consistent when she was shown to have no fear of flying except when it impacted the timeliness of the investigation by the Judiciary committee? Google "Dr. Ford" and "inconsistencies" and a number of articles appear. Perhaps partisan in nature but its all in the eye of the beholder in this case, it seems. Link: This Case Is Even Weaker Than That...Consistent indeed. Consistently lacking consistency.

I have been reading material from both sides of the political spectrum regarding this whole mess. Not making judgement against Ford, but how is it that Brett Kavanaugh has been in the public eye for 30 years including serving as a circuit judge, for the United States Court of Appeals, White House Staff Secretary and not one allegation against him until recently? Could this be revenge for Kavanaugh's role in drafting the Starr Report, which urged the impeachment of President Clinton? The suspicious timing and desperation from the left is becoming predictable. This shtic is getting aged. And so is Dianne Feinstein.

He needs to be impeached from his current position. The conversation has shifted far beyond even being considered for the SCOTUS.
Agree that Feinstein needs to go. Hopefully she’s beaten this year.

Perhaps this thread title should be: "Barf O'Kavanaugh"?

Here is a good article on the subject: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/10/brett-kavanaugh-and-problem-believesurvivors/572083/"Women who tell their stories should have the support, and belief, of loved ones, friends, and a therapeutic community. But when a woman, in telling her story, makes an allegation against a specific man, a different set of obligations kick in.....If believing the woman is the beginning and the end of a search for the truth, then we have left the realm of justice for religion."

His temperament, perjury, and partisanship are disqualifying without even diving into his sexual assaults. Pick your poison.

Temperament my eye. Being slimed by the Democrats trying to destroy him, his family, ruin his reputation with his children, etc. This was the second time the Dems have played the phoney sex card for the sake of SCOTUS Judiciary power. The first time, shame on the Democrats. The second time, he has an absolute right and obligation to call them out for the slimebags they are. To do otherwise would be to surrender to these complete and utter low lifes.
Did you see them? They had blown up and posterboarded excerpts from his high school yearbook. I think nothing can better show how beneath contempt the Democrat Senators are as they chose to go dumpster diving that far back and that low.

Oh, and thank you Harry Reid.
I expect that if the Dems ever get control again of the legislative and executive branches of the Gov, they will blow away the Filibuster altogether as they try to remake the US over in California's image.

Pack the court in Jan 2021 I hope he spends the rest of his life getting even with each and every one of the dung eating jackals that put him through this travesty. And no, you are not going to impeach him, nor expand the court. Maybe we'll impeach K-Guns and Sodomizer. So go to your safe space and whine.

GOP just signed their own warrants. Any Dem that doesn’t support court packing, ending the legislative filibuster, giving DC/PR statehood, impeaching drumpf/Kavanaugh/etc, etc. will not be viable.
Our institutions just broke. Repubs, remember this moment as when you did it to yourself.
And quite honestly, I won’t be surprised when someone takes Sarah Palin’s “other solutions” advice. This minority rule is going to cause a lot more pain than peace, and it’s going to get much worse before it gets better.

If she were nominated, Chuckie Schumer will find some lying pos to say she squeezed his nuts in 7th grade.😝
