Oakland says good-bye to Nashville in AAA and picks up Las Vegas, which gets to play in a brand new ballpark in Summerlin next April.
Meanwhile, the Padres still don't have an agreement with any franchise in the Texas League yet.

Padres will either be in Amarillo or Pensacola. Twins will go to the city Padres don't.

No. The contract was terminated last week.

OK, but apparently, there are 4 AA franchises looking for parent clubs: Amarillo, Pensacola, Midland and Chattanooga.

Correct - But regarding the Padres, it'll be Amarillo (Still my bet) or Pensacola. Chattanooga probably goes with Cincinnati. Midland I thought was still Oakland.

Midland/A's affiliation ended this season. I suppose they could renew. It's too bad that a AA league west of Texas hasn't caught on yet. It was talked about several decades ago, but never got beyond the talk stage. I would also think the Padres will end up in Amarillo--would just like to see it official.

It was just updated in Baseball Digest, although they note they were renewed, but not announced. Whatever that means.

I was disappointed but certainly not surprised, pending the departure of the Mets, I wouldn't be able to dust off my Stars gear.
But focusing on Vegas, two thoughts....
moving play from just north of downtown, just south of North Las Vegas to Summerlin will be quite a leap of faith. For those unfamiliar with Vegas demographics, this will be a radical change in venue.
appreciating the direction Las Vegas has taken in recent years to seriously upgrade their place in the sports food chain, I have no doubt the A's will be the only major league club who's AAA facilities will, no doubt, be nicer than their current MLB facility, (based on artist's conceptions and the condition of 52 year old Oakland-Alameda Stadium).
See? San Diego's got nothing on Oakland.

Yes, it will be quite an upgrade. It will be a much nicer facility, and I would think that after the Raiders leave Oakland (which could be as soon as 2019), the A's will start work on a new stadium, in probably the same location, that would be infinitely better than the facilities in Summerlin. The Mets bought the AAA franchise in Syracuse last year, so you had to know that they wouldn't be in Las Vegas after this season. The only reason they were there anyway was because the Mets were fast asleep during previous minor league affiliations, as LV was the only active AAA franchise remaining during the last round of franchise changes. It will work out great for the Mets and Oakland. Not really sure where you were going with your last sentence, but that isn't the first time.

According to the Padres, they are working with Amarillo, but nothing to announce at this time. It is still between the only two AA franchises remaining--Pensacola or Amarillo.
Lake Elsinore also needs to be renewed, but it is the only Advanced A franchise unsigned, so we should be staying there.

Sounds like Amarillo will be it and they are just hammering out details. Announcement to come.

Tennessee is also now available, but I would expect the Cubs to re-up with them.

Which should mean Tennessee stays with the Cubs.
The Padres still haven't renewed with Lake Elsinore or Tri-City yet. Would expect the Padres will renew with the Storm, as it's the only high-A club remaining.
