Washington, Williams & (hopefully) Swen - the Texas RB connection. Believe that's Horton's doing, right?

I think we can all paraphrase Rocky's reaction to this news.

Like Royce Freeman and others who chose Oregon and the prestige of the Pac 12 over SDSU and the MWC, McClendon can watch from a safe distance as Aztec running backs pile up yards and set records behind absolutely dominating offensive lines and a program geared toward the running game. I suspect that after seeing the Aztecs roster of running backs in waiting that he was correct in assuming he would see the field sooner at UCLA. Keep in mind that with his size and physical maturity he is now a man playing against boys much of the time, but that will change drastically at the next level. In any event he is just a kid trying to make the best decision he can for himself and that is fine with me. What is not, is making a commitment that he later breaks, failing to tell SDSU coaches before announcing his change of heart and making reference to superior facilities at UCLA. Good luck kid, and adios! Next!

Personally, I'd rather have a kid have a change of heart now rather than in November or December. I'm also guessing Freeman is fine with his decision. It turned out pretty well for him.

That's OK. I hope he finds happiness at UCLA. We have such high caliber runningbacks in the stable, that in a few years, I won't even remember that he was once committed to the Aztecs.

Timing is really odd, considering they offered weeks ago and he said he was still solid here....It's alright. We will be fine. He was waiting for the check to clear first...smart kid.

When you read what the kid said about not even thinking of telling SDSU he was changing his mind , it reeks of immaturity. He does not even know any better. Bad parenting and/or bad advisors in action. So be it, he may well end up being a bad apple who would have been sniffed out by his teammates anyway as per the way SDSU vets kids on their visits. So be it, good riddance to bad company.

Signing running backs has not been a problem. It is nice to know early on that he won't sign with us. We already have a Justin Dinka verbal. He is much higher ranked.

Maybe he's a smart kid who knows he isn't tough enough to beat out our other backs. Ill bet Chip Kelly doesn't demand the same level of toughness as The Rock.

I think he's going to be moved to LB. I don't think he has the wheels to play RB at the next level.

Can we just wish him best of luck? Good Lord!! Stop hating on the kid.... He changed his mind and now wants to play for UCLA. It’s going to be ok, I promise you, trust the process....
