Perhaps this conversation should move to Aztec conversations.

one of the assistant coaches on the radio today thought KJ- HS recruit- was a mixture of Polee and Billy W at the beginning of their careers - also that he is coming out of HS - so not exactly sure how long it will take him to adjust to playing at the college level with quicker and more physical players . He does have a lot of energy or is it called Motor

KJ has some serious hops...looks to be one of the more athletic guys we've had in quite some time...I can only imagine what four more years of playing in an Aztec uniform will bring us... Now the question begs...can he defend / rebound / dribble penetrate...we'll soon find out

DP2 and BW both started as true freshman. It will be just fine if KJ can adjust just as quickly.

Forwards to replace Jalen - major question for 2019 : KJ, Joel M, AG ( injury ?) , Nolan or does he stay at the 5 , Yanni - same as Nolan , Improvement and development is going to be very important for the 2019 team . Numerous options but what kind of production. D and Rebounding are going to be important
At the SF: Matt , Jordan , AG , or one of the guards

He is gifted athletically.

DP2 and BW both started as true freshman. It will be just fine if KJ can adjust just as quickly. Minimally related to your psot... Didn’t know Polee started as much as he did at St. John’s. Had to have been a recruiting promise, since he only played 14 minutes per. But still surprising that he bounced back. Looked up Billy White, since he’s always been such a fan favorite. Thought I’d compare him to one of our current guys, for a bit of levity and perspective. Billy White never averaged more than 11.1 points or 5.9 rebounds. Career averages of 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. First two years - 8.7 points and 4.9 rebounds. Through two years, Matt Mitchell is averaging 10.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.

Some people here essentially labeled Johnson a stiff. Yet he had an impressive senior year, was offered by a few impressive competitors for his services and is rated just under four stars by 347Sports and that video shows he can definitely play above the rim even if he doesn't grow any more.
I may not be elated with the new guys coming in but neither am I disappointed as so many others seem to be.

Through two years, Matt Mitchell is averaging 10.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. Through their first two years, where both averaged about 26 minutes per game, some other key stats: Billy White: 60 assists, 78 steals, 51 blocks, 96 turnovers. Matt Mitchell: 118 assists, 59 steals, 15 blocks, 133 turnovers.

Interesting.
If you award one point for each positive contribution; assist/steal/block, and one negative point for each turnover it sheds some light on their relative value as players.
BW made two positive contributions for each negative play. MM made about three positive contributions for every two negative plays, because of his propensity to turn the ball over at a higher rate.
All of this ignores points scored and rebounds. So, it is admittedly useless and probably irrelevant!

Dunk tapes are nice, and all, but lots and lots of recruits have nice dunk tapes.

so does KJ get PT or Joel M , much could depend on if AG is able to play a high level and even Yanni/Nolan ? or does some one red shirt ?
