I didn't think they could do it, but it would appear they have proven me wrong. They need to go 13-16 the rest of the season (.448 win pct) to keep from "succeeding". Their current win percentage is .376. Now, I'm hoping they don't lose 105 games. Historical footnote: The second highest loss total for the club is 102, which was accomplished in back-to-back seasons--1973 and 1974.

Hard to fathom there being 3 or 4 potential 100 loss teams. The tanking is REAL.

Hard to fathom this pile of dung is on pace to lose 102 games. Maybe more? I should have known better after the Brewres and Phillies series. Should have put the house on the Pudres losing badly after that. I don't give $#!+ if the owners are rebuilding or the the farm is stacked. Shame on this pathetic display. The rest of the home games should be $5 for any seats, $1 hot dogs and $2 beers to justify this garbage. Go ahead and come up with some of your awesome farm stats to make it all better and justify MLB prices at Petco.
This is the worst crap I have ever seen in 45 years as a Padres fan!! Ever!!
I sent this to the Padres front office as well.

Good for you. I'm sure they'll lose sleep over your lack of attendance.

If enough of us(me included)don’t show up hopefully they’ll figure out things more quickly!

If enough of us(me included)don’t show up hopefully they’ll figure out things more quickly! I think the Padres were genuinely concerned with the poor attendance for the series with the D-Backs, considering they were honoring Trevor Hoffman pretty much the entire series. Even Leitner mentioned it on 1090 afterwards.

I sent my comments to Padres front office and got this response.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, and for your continued support of the San Diego Padres.
As you mentioned, we set forth a plan in 2016 to build a championship-caliber team from within. We are certainly not happy about our current record, but we have been honest with our fans that 2018 would be another year of valuable development for our young core group of players. Our staff is dedicated to coaching them up to see marked improvement to the point that they become consistent and productive big-league players. We believe the future is very bright in San Diego, especially because the Padres were named the No. 1 minor league system entering the 2018 season. With that said, your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate parties for their awareness. We hope that you will continue to be with us as we continue with this plan and towards our ultimate goal of bringing a World Series Championship to San Diego.
While they are not happy with what's happening this year, there was no mention of giving some discounts for the rest of the home games this season. However, they said they are going to forward this message. So maybe something will happen. Anything would be nice and help with fan relationships.

I somehow doubt they want to lose more fans when they are averaging 26K a game. That's actually better than I thought it would be for a team this bad tho.

Attendance has actually increased slightly from last season. I'm sure the team is aware, the front office is, that they need to be consistent with their message to the fans that don't follow the minor league system. They never expected to struggle like this, but they are at least committed to taking necessary measures with players during the rebuilding.

They never expected to struggle like this, but they are at least committed to taking necessary measures with players during the rebuilding. But it's doubtful that attendance will stay above last years level, as the Padres have 5 home series remaining, and they play Seattle, Colorado, Texas, Arizona and the Giants, and the Giants series is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. But even if they are close to last years numbers, that would be fairly impressive, considering just how bad they have been for most of the season.

Padres still need 3 wins to not lose 100. 10 games left.

They won't lose 100 games. The race for a top 5 pick now is on.

Probably. They are god awful with no farm. I think the Padres are going to play with heavy hearts today after the passing of Don Welke. What a loss for the front office.

He was a scout for almost 50 years. He was a mentor to Preller - He signed guys like John Olerud back in the day. Considered a legend in baseball circles.

There is nothing better than shutting down the arrogance for the Dodgers, except for maybe taking a bite out of their playoff lead. Kenley, how does it feel?
