Their 14-2 win last night was their:
9th consecutive win 16th consecutive win at home 18th consecutive game in which the starter allowed 3 or fewer runs
They are on a current 42-15 romp through the Pacific Coast League. Their 76-52 record is 1/2 from being the best in the PCL. They should have the best record soon.
Lauer has a rehab start tonight.

The Padres have been very aggressive promoting good young players. The Padres double-a team was 42 and 28 in the first half to barely miss the playoffs. Lake Elsinore has had all their best players promoted.

Fort Wayne could make the playoffs, too. A lot will depend on the health of their pitching staff.

Incorrect. Top two teams in each division make the playoffs and Bowling Green is already in since they won the first half. So Fort Wayne has to get into the top 3. 3 games out, I believe.

Yes, you are correct. They are 3 games back in the race for a wildcard spot. In the midst of a 6 game losing streak. They really need to play a team in front of them to really make up any ground, and they don't until Labor Day Weekend. By then, it may be too late.

They lead the league in WHIP and strikeout to walk ratio. Those are two metrics that correlate very high to success in higher levels. They will end the season with a very good win loss record. We care about the minor leagues as an indication a future Padre help, not just making the playoffs.

Good thing about the Missions pitching, as they rank in the bottom half of many offensive categories in the Texas League.

Not the same team after Tatis went down and some of the bullpen guys were promoted. Naylor was hurt for a stretch and the bottom of their lineup struggled to hit consistently.

They were 63-41 and lost 16 of 20. If they were overly concerned, they wouldn't have promoted Logan Allen and Ty France and others. The fact they will miss the playoffs is probably a blessing, as a handful of pitchers are close to their shutdown days.

I know some will struggle to grasp this concept, but player and prospect development is priority 1 in the minor leagues. Otherwise, teams would keep guys where they are in the interest of winning a first half or second half title. You would have seen Munoz up earlier, you would have kept the core of that team intact instead of promoting Keel, France, Allen, etc. I have zero desire to see Paddack extend his innings as he is already WAY over his previous totals.

You wouldn't want the minor league franchise to be overly successful. And you certainly don't want those players to win championships at any level. Besides, why should the Padres care about San Antonio anyway, since the Padres will have a new AA team next season.

Do the Padres even have an agreement with a AA franchise for next year? Are they going to be in Amarillo, or elsewhere? Or have they already signed an agreement, and I just missed it?

San Antonio missed the finals by one game last season. Fort Wayne made the MWL championship series last year. But it's just so much more about individual players and development. Colorado is taking over San Antonio next year and the Padres will be in Amarillo.
