Greinke is being aggressively shopped, Kershaw is a shell of what he used to be and the Giants are screwed with or without MadBum. What the insane Mets are throwing out there right now is straight lunacy - I'm not trading Tatis for Thor straight up, some of their fans want Gore and Mejia on top of Tatis. Hell. No. The Padres need to drive a tough bargain. Thor has actually done it in the major leagues, Tatis Mejia and Gore haven’t and there is no absolute guarantee that they will. 25 years ago the Pads were talking trade with the Braves. The Padres were looking to trade Fred McGriff and wanted then minor leaguers Chipper Jones or Javy Lopez. Instead they settled for Reuben Rivera. I certainly wouldn’t trade Tatis, but a package with Gore or Reyes or Villanueva or a reliever.....

Yeah, I just don't see a match. Thor's injuries and durability are a serious concern. He's only topped 180 innings once, he missed almost all of 2017....It's scary.

I'm pretty sure the Pads got Ruben Rivera in the Hideki Irabu deal. -- McGriff, whose $4 million salary topped the Padres, was swapped for outfielders Melvin Nieves and Vince Moore and pitcher Donnie Elliott as the two-time defending National League champion Braves hoped to improve their poor offense. The Braves' .246 batting average is the worst in the league, and they are ranked low in runs scored. www.nytimes.com/1993/07/19/sports/baseball-padres-trade-mcgriff-for-3-braves-farmhands.html

The Indians are seeking an OF and are open to dealing one of either Kluber, Carrasco, or Bauer.
If I am Preller, I find out if they have an interest in Myers or Renfroe. Obviously, would need to pick up some of the money left on Myers's deal.
Carrasco would be really attractive at the right price.

I would even take Kipnis back to offset salary.
