I guess all the other problems like traffic and water storage are fixed since they are addressing this scourge.
This State is run by imbeciles.

Get out while there still are buyers. I went to Nashville in 1995. Now all the people are leaving Ill. to go there. I was born in Chicago. Lots of entertainment, no income Tax. They even have Pro football and Hockey.
Remember that movie in the 50's warning everyone they were coming to turn everyone into a person with no feeling.
If the State kills Aztec football you may it may be to late.

All this means is that the boosters will have to step up to compensate.

Idiot politicians salary should be capped at part time & 40k a year. Coaches work 100x harder than any politician.

It’s a UC amendment. I doubt it passes. It's just a start. First it will be a UC thing then it will be applied to the CSU school's.

Does SDSU play college football? Is SDSU run by the State of California?

All this means is that the boosters will have to step up to compensate. We collectively need to be on this line of logic.

Does SDSU play college football? Is SDSU run by the State of California? Yes. Is San Diego State part of the University of California system? No. So this amendment (which won't even pass) won't affect SDSU.

Amendment being proposed by: Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva-D-Fullerton; Assemblyman Dante Acosta-R-Santa Clarita; Assemblywoman Catharine Baker-R-Dublin. Sacramento Bee: Lawmakers propose limits on University of California powerOther states have similar laws and work around it by signing coaches to the maximum faculty salary and the paying the balance through non-appropriated funds. They just record their revenues from ticket sales and TV revenues to non appropriated funds. Then the people that would be most affected by this resolution will be the deans of the various schools, especially the professional schools.

The CA Gov has already killed business competitiveness. Now let's make sure we can't get the best coaches too!

Well, I see quite a few of us are in 3-day weekend drinking mode...
Folks, it’s college football — not the search for a cure to MS. Even Rocky has acknowledged as much recently. It’s also taxpayer funds. Chip Kelly’s paycheck could probably solve the TJ River problem.
Now, I’d probably compromise and raise that limit to $1M with COLA every five years. But California has its priorities. Alabama has its priorities. The former wants to live in the 21st century. The other is nostalgic for the 1800s.
Think about that as the you sip your beer and wonder how California by itself just became the world’s 5th largest economy...

The CA Gov has already killed business competitiveness. Now let's make sure we can't get the best coaches too! Yet is the 5th largest economy in the world. I think CA's 'business competitiveness' is doing okay. Yes, regulatory regime is not "business-friendly"; yet the state fosters a culture creating and welcoming the greatest workforce talent in the world. Taken as a whole... CA clearly remains a place where companies want to do business.
