Unless there is specific reporting relating to the topic, I don’t think it’s fair to bring up academics.

Yea, the only person upon which 247 relies for its prediction is Steve Bartel, the managing editor of UteZone.

Lmao! From a guy that put him at 0% chance of going there on May 1 and now has him at 100% on June 1.

so with Jalen coming back . better or worse chances of him coming to SDSU - ? Better chance for MM but not as likely to start , would he be a starter at TT or Utah ?

Is that a guess? Or are you tight with God? Of course, all are guesses until signed... My source, a couple weeks ago said we would land Malachi, Arop and Chang, but said Chang would be the least likely to commit to State of the three, with Chang at like 75%. Then after other two signed, was told that State increased, dramatically, our recruitment of Gach. Was told that Chang was now 50/50... Same person says Gach is like 80% coming to SDSU and that Chang is still 50/50...

Lmao! From a guy that put him at 0% chance of going there on May 1 and now has him at 100% on June 1. The % is derived from the number of “experts” that pick each school. Right now it’s 1/1 for Utah so 100%. If another expert picked SDSU it would be 50/50 Utah SDSU.

They don’t play the same position. Why in the name of sweet baby j would Jalen’s return negatively impact Both’s recruitment ? If you’d like to see a roster overflowing in talent, look no farther than Reno. The Aztecs have never had that much talent, depth, and experience. They are going to have to let two players walk and at least one of them would be able to come here and get immediate minutes.

If Mr. Gach wants to play the Point, the story of Xavier Thames may be of interest to him.
X was recruited by the Aztecs, but chose to accept an offer from WSU. After one year the situation was not developing in the way that he had anticipated. So, he called his childhood pal, Chase Tapley, who had accepted an SDSU offer. CT was a happy guy and X decided to transfer and play with his lifelong friend @ SDSU.
Unfortunately X struggled with injuries for the next two years which limited his playing time and effectiveness.
However, the Aztec coaches were madly plotting methods to help X improve his game and the Aztecs. They created films of every moment that he was on the floor. Long sequences of driving to the right, driving to the left, 3 point shooting, passing, assists, defending and all other aspects of his play. The films revealed what sort of play was most effective, least effective, and the overall quality of his decision making. The coaches explained what he could do to become a much better player for his senior year. X took it to heart and worked his butt off all summer and fall to become the best PG he could be.
Result: The Aztecs won the MWC conference championship, went to the Big Dance and reached the Sweet 16, mostly on the back of X---with great help from Josh Davis and the other Aztec team mates. Oh, and X was named an All American. X was then selected in the NBA draft second round by Toronto. The Aztec coaches made a huge difference for X Thames.
It would also be worthwhile to examine the past several years of Aztec play. Frequently plays were run through forwards JJ O'Brien (a transfer from Utah), WS3, and Malik, rather than the PGs. The flexibility of the Aztec coaches and that style of play is very complementary to the versatile skills of Both Gach.

I really hope we land Gach. We have Watson and Hemsley for PG this year and Seiko can provide some minutes. Then next year we just have Flynn with Seiko able to provide some minutes. With Gach we can give him some minutes this year at PG instead of Seiko and then see if we even need to recruit a PG for next year (I'm assuming we won't be landing Boogie Ellis).

Why are people giving up on Seiko already? I anticipate Adam being a defensive stud, a heady player and a leader as well. Jalen was redshirted too and that was no reflection on his talent.

Kell, Pope, Rooks, Montana, and Gill-Caesar all bailed last year and we redshirted Seiko. So, we’ve got a lot of spots to fill. I understand striving for roster balance. But, is it better to have multiple open scholarships? When you’re able to keep the cupboard stocked by consistently landing quality recruits and transfers you stop worrying about holding scholarships open or the number of recruits in a class.

It's easy to forget about a RS Fr. The hype is gone and we haven't seen them play. If he balls out next year I bet we'll stop sleeping on him.

No, it was a reflection of the coaching staff making poor decisions. Nevada’s redshirts are transfers. Their roster is insanely deep and strong. They wouldn’t put a guy on the shelf for no reason or leave scholarships arbitrarily unfilled. They add the best possible players and let good players go if they can be replaced with great ones. Seiko wasn’t a highly rated guy and was benched in his first year which isn’t terribly inspiring.

Thanks...that's why I asked -- it seems to be Dutch's preference to have a scholarship open to have flexibility and grab a late transfer or someone like Mitchell last year. Maybe they hope to get 1 of the 2 and if they get both then oh well -- good problem to have.
