so who would you say are our biggest recruiting needs for the 2019-20 team . ? Depends how the FR look. If N Mensah is solid and Seiko plays well, and/or these highly regarded wings look like they'll adapt, the beauty is we dont have a specific need. We can recruit the best available player. Priority #1 is Jaden McDaniels, bar none. Wont kill us if we dont get him but might as well shoot for the stars. I do think PG will be key, unless Seiko really stands out, and you can never have enough good bigs. But with technically 3-4 openings, and probably just seeking 2-3 recruits, 1 of which may be a transfer, we can be picky. Unlike Reno who may need 9!

I thought we were out of the running for the 6'7" wing Julian Strawther, but apparently not! Aztecs still in the race.

I updated the chart with the latest...let me know if I missed anything (note that I took off some uncommitted guys that seem like longsthots at best).
I think right now their recruiting board is 1) Jaden 2) a veteran guard that can play next year (JUCO like Pulliam or grad transfer) and a freshman PG in the 2020 class to be the long-term replacement for Flynn (Butler or Hunter).

Updated with the Feagin commitment. Down to 1 scholarship for next year, but that's likely 2 assuming Jalen goes pro.

would you say K Johnson new 6'7" freshman for 2019 is more of a wing rather then a big ? would guess he would be playing the 4 ? So not sure how that fits your scheme

So not sure how that fits your scheme Yeah, some of the guys don't fit perfect into the buckets I have (you could probably argue Arop could be a big). He's listed as a PF on the recruiting sites -- my semi-informed guess is that he's more of an inside guy to start and hopefully develops more of a perimeter game over time. I think Dutcher (or maybe it was Zeigler) has compared him to Billy White.

Updated with Butler commitment.
I wonder if this takes Hunter of their board.

Updated with Butler commitment. I wonder if this takes Hunter of their board. I would think so. Especially with Doutrieve coming in this weekend

Especially with Doutrieve coming in this weekend Was thinking the same. 20-21 we now have Flynn, Pulliam and Butler (along with Seiko) so not looking at much playing time as a freshman. The only reason I think there's a chance maybe they'd still want him is we lose Flynn and Pulliam after 20-21 so maybe he'd redshirt and then be a freshman in 20-21. Dutcher clearly likes having veteran guards and seems to want 3 good ones so thinking way ahead a sit-out transfer for 20-21 who'd play in 21-22 would seem ideal.

Since the last psot is two years old, maybe it's time to remove this pinned thread?
