Only 5 K's tonight, making it 385 K's in 39 games. Average K's per game is now fractionally under 10.

K-o-meter...465 K's in 48 games, or just under 9.7 K's per game. The Padres don't even lead the major leagues in K's any longer--that dubious distinction goes to the Texas Rangers. But it's close.

K-o-meter...473 K's in 49 games. 9.65 K's per game. Total K's still 2nd, behind Texas.

Are you really going to update this every game? How about the total MLB tally? Strikeouts are on pace to exceed 45,000.

Okay. Well, yes, we strike out a lot. So does the rest of the baseball. Grass is green. The sky is blue. Carry on.

Baseball is a 3 outcome game essentially. Going to continue to be a crisis leaguewide. Game we should have won however. How Strahm is in the game in a high leverage situation is beyond reason.

Good point. Strahm is good for a walk per inning. He kept up that pace tonight, walking the leadoff hitter. And he scored the winning run.

Padres strike out 9 more times today in the win, which isn't bad for them. On the other hand, the Nationals struck out 12 times, including the top 3 in their order a total of 7 times. Nice job by the staff today.

Tyson was dealing today. He's been fun to watch the entirety of this season. Just need to get the offense in a groove for long enough to sustain some momentum.

That's the right play when you signed him for essentially nothing - I have read rumblings he could fetch a top 10-15 prospect from a good farm in return. He's been steady this year in a league where a lot of teams could use a backend starter.

K-o-meter...after 62 games, the Padres are still 2nd in MLB with 581 K's, but the average per game is slowly trending downward, at 9.37 per game. And their team batting average has crept up to 24th, at .234.

Further...the Padres struck out only 4 times last night. Aaron Judge of the Yankees struck out 8 times in a DH yesterday. Yikes.

K-o-meter jumped today. 13 today, and 679 for the year. 9.3 K's per game. The Braves starter struck out 7 in 6 innings, but then their bullpen proceeded to strike out 6 in the last 3 innings. Villanueva with the Silver Sombrero, and Reyes with the Golden Sombrero. Put the ball in play tomorrow boys, and get a split.
