So the POTUS boy, AKA Spanky is going to shove National Guard troops long the borders 'cause he ain't gonna get his wall. (Even though he, once again, lied to his minions at one of his rallies that the new wall was under contsruction when the TRUTH was the current wall was under maintenance. Most likely, many, if not most, it not all believed it). The fact is, the border, for the most part hasn't been this quiet in decades.
And once again, as a fiscal conservative, I find myself asking, who's gonna pay for this $#!+, which will probably amount to billions before this idiot is done. Though the Governor's of both Arizona and Texas have already jumped on the Trump band wagon, so far, the Governor of Oregon has told him to pound sand and I trust more governors will do likewise.
Granted both Bush and Obama sent NGT's to the border, after careful consideration, in what they both viewed as a current conflict to be addressed. Both attempts ultimately had no impact and was a total waste of taxpayer money. But it's obvious Trump isn't that bright, so we'll see what the future brings as I return to the sidelines to enjoy this show.
What this clown must remember, unlike one of his cheesy business, the U.S. cannot file for bankruptcy!
On a positive note, while I seriously doubt my son-in-lax, a pilot in the Conn National guard, would be "summoned", I would tell him, so the trip is not a total waste, to check out OTMC in Old Town San Diego. At least he would have accomplished something.
Again, you just can't make this $#!+ up!! :rotflmao

I'm not so sure that we should assume that the Guard will not make a positive contribution to border security. As far as has been reported, the tasks that the Guard will handle are not make-work projects. They will be doing important support work that should free Border Patrol agents to actually apprehend illegals, something that the Guardsmen are not allowed to do.
But I agree with you that this move is probably more political than anything. I don't know whether the same can be said for the National Guard call-ups undertaken by G.W. Bush and B. H. Obama.
I have one question. Did the President know ahead of time that the Guard cannot actually patrol the border and apprehend illegals before he made his proclamation? I wonder. I hope he was knowledgeable enough to have realized that beforehand, but with him you never know.
For me, the most crucial question is this: Is Donald Trump actually learning important things as he goes deeper into his term of office, or is he simply relying on his instincts rather than checking facts before he takes action. Of course, anti-Trumpers simply assume that he is so stupid that he feels no necessity to inform himself. They may be correct.
My guess is that he is indeed learning things that he never knew, since he has advisors who are not inexperienced morons. But I also believe that a lot of the things he is learning do not please him one bit.

Just think back to 1997 and the killing of Ezequiel Hernandez by a Marine patrol in west Texas. That little mistake cost a young U.S. citizen his life and the tax payers $1.9 million in wrongful death $$. Ugh!

But The United States needs to do something more aggressive at its borders. What's going on currently is not working. As far as your "Border being quiet," not sure if that's a good thing or not. So I guess you should run in 2020 because you have all the answers. Not to change subject, but where are all the posters that said Trump wouldn't make it six months? Stop Voting D & R!!
