The latest news? It couldn’t possibly be the fact that Arizona has been one of the most successful basketball programs for decades. They have better facilities, play in a better conference, face a tougher schedule, and receive more media exposure. Teams haven’t been bribing players to prevent them from committing to teams like the Aztecs. This a war for big time recruits being waged among big time schools. Are you then suggesting that SDSU bribe players to come play for the Aztecs?... Coaches don't bribe players to prevent them from signing with other teams...they bribe them to go to their school... Schools like Arizona and USC are as dirty as you can get...and have been caught numerous times (with little to no repercussions to the offending schools)...so when the Aztecs lose recruits to these schools it's only natural to think that there is something shady going on... Now if we lose recruits to Gonzaga / St. Mary's / UCLA / Pepperdine / Nevada etc...then a case can be made that we didn't sell our program well enough to win the race (second place does not count)...but when we lose out to AZ and/or USC...then it's might be a fair accusation No, the Aztecs are not impacted when a team like Arizona bribes a player. The Aztecs don’t have a shot at these high level recruits. It is my opinion that AZ is in competition with other big time programs for these players. A bribe may influence a player to choose AZ over UCLA or Kansas but a team like SDSU never had a shot in the first place.

unfortunately as the guys ratings move up the rating boards so do the offers from the P6 schools and our chances of signing them drop off
there were two transfers but they went else where - not sure how hard we were recruiting them or if they wanted to come here

If NCAA Basketball 09 by EA Sports on the XBox 360 taught me anything about SDSU basketball, it was that Tim Island should have been getting starter minutes on that 08-09 team. Dude was borderline unguardable.

I don't think Agbo is our top target nor do I think he's considering us

Why are we in his top 5? More courtesy than real consideration? Like all the rest...

Dutch has been following and been in touch with Agbo for the last three seasons. I don't see an 'official to SDSU' however, he has been to campus many, many times unofficially and played in the Summer Swish Lea if I am not mistaken with and against Aztec MBB players. I know he played with Trey Kell and Joel Mensah one weekend. Hopefully Trey sold him in on staying home and attending SDSU.
He played with the Compton Magic AAU with the Mobley Brothers, Coach so USC has an edge with him. Evan Mobley was ranked #1 in 2020, his brother Isaiah was 5-star top 10 in-coming Frosh at USC.

Also Dalen Terry played with him. So may help try to sway him to Arizona

Sounds like the three schools he is visiting: Texas Tech, Marquette and U of A. USC and SDSU are familiar but no word on officials there.
