The Chargers--or any other NFL team--will not come to San Diego without a concrete plan for a new stadium. The city sure isn't going to build it.

Colin Cowherd also had about a 2 minute rant this morning on how the Chargers should be back in SD. What the league is really pissed off about is the tv ratings in SD and LA. Less than 13,000 people watch the chargers play on TV 📺 this past weekend in SD. About 35,000 watch game in LA. The San Diego fan base is so pissed off at the NFL that even the donkeys and Cowboys didnt get the tv rating they were projecting.

Force Spanos to sell and then talk to us. Thats about the only way we get something done in this town. We need someone with money that can create a venue that could be used 185+ a year.

The Spanos family moved the team to L.A. to increase its value. Wouldn't them moving back to SD reduce its value by a like amount?
I'm with the commenter named Loquacious in saying the Chargers franchise ought to relocate to the OC. The other owners could easily afford to build the team a stadium there but the quid pro quo would be the Spanoses giving up ownership before the stadium is completed or they would be on the hook for the full cost. Call them the San Diego-Los Angeles Chargers of Anaheim, Aliso Viejo or whatever.

Concur. However, as I have predicted from the outset, the Chargers will bomb in L.A. Flat out bomb. And, yes, it's only week 3, and yes, this is a marathon, not a sprint, but I don't see how the outcome changes. Moving the team to L.A. was utterly moronic. A move to Vegas would've worked. Not L.A. And especially not since the Rams decided to put down stakes. For some reason, the NFL has accumulated so much hubris that they believe they can alter the laws of physics and business, e.g., treating your fans like sh*t, hiring Richard Nixon's attorney to call San Diegans names, tossing Molotov cocktails here and there just for fun, and strapping dynamite to the base of bridges and detonating the charge just to ensure there would be no coming back. And then expect those same fans to still embrace your organization and spend their hard-earned coin on you. Not a chance. Utter stupidity. Utter insanity.

I haven't listened, nor do I want to, but I'm sure this gives the Charger honks on the 2 local sports radio stations even more reason to endlessly spout on and on about that pathetic organization. They'll do anything to make people think "so there is a chance......"

The Chargers can help attendance by drafting Sam Darnold.

Click bait. Never gonna happen. The Spanos orchestrated their LA move over a fifteen year period and their franchise value went up by a billion dollars. No one is going to buy a franchise at LA pricing then movie it to small market San Diego.

The Chargers--or any other NFL team--will not come to San Diego without a concrete plan for a new stadium. The city sure isn't going to build it. Exactly. It's guaranteed that the Chargers will be playing in this stadium in 3 years. Or they could move back and play here with no guarantee to ever get a new stadium. I have a feeling that the NFL and the Chargers will try a little longer than 3 weeks to make the LA plan work.

So now they want "The best option among bad options"? They had a decade to pick the best option of the best options, which was to use their own vast wealth to build the Super Bowl stadium of their dreams in the Valley or downtown or on the Chula Vista waterfront or next to I-15 in Escondido or...pick a spot.
Here's the deal, NFL: We'll be happy to take our team back if it's owned by someone not named Spanos and plays in a stadium YOU guys build.
Oh, and give us back our cannon.
