As Mama Fanhood used to say, "oh spare me." I graduated from a military college and have season tickets to my Alma Mater that happens to run the Triple Option. I watch more military college, option football in a season than you will in your lifetime. We won't lose to the zoomie midgets that don't play defense. Well excuuuuuuuuuse me! So, you graduated from a military school, and have been to a lot of their games. I was only pointing out that AFA does have a very good chance of upsetting us that's all. Like I said we have won the last six games, and I do hope we will win this season too. But, you know they are overdue the opportunity to beat us. In the MW Championship game we won against them in 2105 we won by only 3 points. They are 19-15 against us all time, so you never know. Haha, some people get offended so easily and take things personally, huh? How dare you question someone who's watched a lot of football and knows for a fact that they've seen more military-style triple-option football than you ever will.

Don't tell ncm that he does not like facts that counter his bias. We all have bias...the sooner you realize it, the better. Oh, and which post were you referring to, anyway?

I was just correcting him. I'm here to help. Anything I can do for you?

You're 100% certain that you watched more triple-option football last season than another poster has in his entire life? Got it. And yeah, your words (and your tone) are very telling. Don't like people challenging you and don't like people thinking that they know more than ya, huh? . And yeah, you can do something for me - stop being so sensitive, haha.

And we are 2-1 against BSU in our most recent games, correct? I suppose. I'm just saying, they've still been a tough team and we just can't assume that we were better than them simply because we haven't played them in the MWC championship game the past couple of years. Heck, we lost to Colorado State pretty badly last year - does that mean they were better than us because they beat us last year ? We're 1-1 against CSU the past two years. So, by your logic, we should be dead even and equally good, right? I think that the data of who we have played and who they have played would suggest that we are at least on equal footing with BSU and a home game against them should give us a small advantage. I think we will win that game, but as you noted with the CSU game, we can be better than a team and still get beat. I think that some folks still feel that BSU is alone as the premier team in the conference and the data would say that is not correct.

True, but it includes games against teams that proved to be better than Boise State (AF in '15 & Wyoming in '16). We were 2-1 in those games; BSU was 0-2 against the same 2 teams. Yup - technically, those teams might have been "better," but I think the top three in the Mountain Division have been a toss-up the past couple of years with no clear-cut "better" team. We lost a couple of games that maybe Boise State could have won (Colorado State last year and South Alabama the past two years come to mind). So, who knows...perhaps it's an "any given Saturday" type of thing at that point. And obviously vice versa. Hence why our record is much better against those better teams. BSU got blown out at USU 2 years ago, a team we crushed, and they lost back to back game at home to NM & AF. Bottom line - they have NOT been the best team in their own division, and we've beaten the teams that outplaced them the last 2 years. BSU remains a very good program and a good team, but it's clear we've been better over the past 2 years. This year we have a chance to prove it once again.

It helped that TCU, Utah, and maybe also BYU left the MWC. SDSU and Boise are the top two left standing. SDSU is a caliber above schools like USU, Nevada, Wyoming and Fresno, and it will be nicer if SDSU can someday join a P5 conference. Why? We've made our living the past few years in football and basketball being the big fish in a small pond. It helps some of our delusional fanbase into thinking we can play with the big boys in big boy conferences on a national level though. I do wonder, however, how we'd fare if TCU, Utah, and BYU were still in our conference. Delusional? It is delusional to think SDSU can continue financially without getting into a P5 conference. BTW, TCU and Utah had problems when they went into big conferences. It takes awhile for their recruiting to catch up. However, with the extra money you can hire the right coaches and assistants and improve your program over time to be be competitive.

The goal is always to get into a P5 conference...my point was that it might hurt some of our fanbase's fragile egos to not be the top dog anymore once we join a big boy conference.
