Really high quality troll post by the OP. I am not trolling. I am really trying to understand what the current status is. I graduated in 1987 and have lived in CO since 1995. I attend most games that the Aztecs play at CSU and Wyoming. I lived through the lean years (like 25+ lean years!) and now that we are finally getting some consistency, we lose our stadium. I have tried to read through these forums and just cannot get a clean picture. I appreciate all of the feedback. Curiously, I see above that a vote on SoccerCity in November of 2018? Why so long (not that I want it to pass, I just want it decided)? pull up utsandiego.com and read all their articles or just google soccer city for more info.

It takes little in the way of leadership to allow public pressure to bequeath you land and to then float bonds and build a spartan stadium upon it. Don't get me wrong. Having any kind of stadium of our own will be a huge upgrade but nothing I've seen persuades me that a troika of this administration, the present leaders of the Campanile Foundation and truly rich (as opposed to simply quite affluent) alumni are going to get anything built which approximates the facility Colorado State is about to open. I DO think SDSU's plan such as it is will be announced in the next few weeks. I think that what was one of the fatal flaws SDSU made; they simply assumed that land would essentially be given to them, or they thought they would naturally be the frontrunner for any land grant, etc. SDSU never said the land would be given to them and they are indeed a front runner for a portion of the land to be sold to them. After all that's happened your post above seems to be in a 2016 time warp.

Several others on this B board are broken records. Reading heavily biased posts defeats the purpose of a chat room. But when pure knowledge is shared, which is rare here, it makes for interesting reading .

There was a flaw, however, it wasn't fatal... SDSU Leadership "believed" FSI from January 2016 through January 2017 and in reality they should have known that was going to be a problem... and as you have noted, as well as many others, SDSU Leadership, Alumnus and Community Leaders that understand the value that SDSU has and would have with an additional 15k students have rallied, picked up the pieces and positioned SDSU well for the future...

SDSU expected the sweetest of sweetheart deals is what I'm saying. They couldn't compete (or didn't want to) with the kind of money that the other side could is what I'm saying. They had no real plan when the $#!^ finally hit the fan is what I'm saying. It might sound like a 2016 time warp to you, but this is something that the university should have been readying themselves for well before 2016...

Not sure why you think a message board is a chat room, but to each his own . Curious, is something only considered "pure knowledge" when it jives with your views?

You mean beer? I like beer.
