They spent $50,000 to have this created too. Didn't we once hire a firm for an AD search that got paid less than that? Perhaps. But, you get what you pay for.

Personally I think it's way too busy and it just looks like a generic emblem with a hat at first glance. Looks terrible!

I hope she had a good grip when handling those... paint brushes Turns out she lied. She refused to paint the house. (Yes, I'm ignoring your innuendo.) Her loss. She must not have been interested in painting the house black and red.

Too busy. Bad logo. I see the black figure looking to the right with a gray mustache...and...a gray figure on the right sticking his tongue out. (The tongue being the black figure's mustache)

Saw this over on the Mountain West Conference Board. It's an improvement. Still not good. They said it took someone about 20 minutes to fix it up. It's still more Aztec colors than UNLV colors.

They need to change the brim on the hat, that would make it more badass. As is it looks like a musketeer race car driver, which is silly.

Actually, my suspicion is that this is part of a leaked memo from UNLV's Psychology Department. It's a new Rorschach test they will be administering to all recruits and coaches.

This looks much better LOL It does. You can actually guess what it's supposed to be. However, better does not necessarily mean good.

It's never good when a logo comes with an explanation chart

Personally I think it's way too busy and it just looks like a generic emblem with a hat at first glance. I think it looks pretty clean, and black was probably the only color they could use on the Reb face since trying to use only gray and red (actually their color is scarlet like ours) would not look as good. They needed the third color to separate the gray and scarlet details. True when you have to give explanations as to what is in the face (logo design) you then are not making it easy for anyone to understand it. They need to put UNLV letters in there to identify it. They paid $50K for this? Then they got it for a bargain. Our cost for our SD arrow, Arrow A with spear, and the one with the Hawk and Aztec face was $100K, and that was over 15 years ago!
