After watching the Vegas summer league games, Pope at his best reminds me of Kyle Kuzma. Can shoot the three, but use his athleticism and height to go inside. I wish and hope we see Pope play hard consistently at a high level. You'd like to think he should be a dominant player as a senior. Kuzma was never a 3-pt threat in college but sure has changed that in the past 2 months! 27% as a junior; 32% as a senior. On Kuzma, he improved significantly during his senior year - went from being an average P12 player to among the best (99.2 to 114.5 O-rating as a senior), and really improved on the boards. Also increased his assist % while his TO % declined substantially. Pope could be all that + bring a much better perimeter game. Also wouldn't surprise me to see him go from taking 24% of the shots while on the floor to closer to 28%. Just stay healthy!

Haha, I hope you're being facetious. If not, I would point you, again, to the link that I posted...Pope's year is listed as well as is actual height/weight. Spring ball? Summer's halfway over now; school's in session and Fall is here! Title of thread was -- popes senior year. So I Much prefer it when posters use - MBB to start threads and just felt like being a smart ass yesterday . Must admit I was whooshed on this yesterday. : ) (I do hope the 6'7 Pope does start this year - wouldn't hurt to have a little more experience)

We have IMHO the best OL talent in program history. This year it is obviously very inexperienced talent particularly with RsF Roemer and Ismael pencilled in to start. Yet Rocky feels they are special and I am hopeful they MAY develop quickly. That would be very unusual as it takes those people time to develop as we all now know . So do we see some ZOOM off of these past now three classes? Can't wait to find out.

Without that , 6-7 who whooshes on a block can get your QB killed.

Pope has worked hard in the off season. He has gained a little weight, as have most of the guys. Team is very fast and has improved their shooting. Should be a fun year!

pope's sr year will be what he wants it to be. no more no less. it's all in his head. I once tore a meniscus right at the front of my temporal lobe. Kept me from practicing all season. Add to that the leg that fractured in my forehead twice and kept me from playing AT ALL for two of my most developmental years. My damn head.

takes the whole team being healthy and really working to play good team basketball . No one player can do it by himself especially a guy that is playing a forward position . Need a positive scheme of involvement, attacking the basket with guys willing to share the basketball . Especially guards that are looking to pass to the front court players .

Looking forward in these guys pulling it together in '17/'18 and an NCAA bid!
