NO checks! This is strictly a "for cash only" business.

Can't blame the kid for choosing Kentucky over SDSU, if that's what happens. Just like I didn't blame Boogie for choosing Duke. I mean, those two schools are the blue bloods of the blue bloods. But, sometimes a recruit can get lost in the shuffle of those big time programs, see Boogie. Can't really comment on Jaden and his game, his physical readiness, etc. because I have only seen the highlights. But, you don't get on a "top 5" list by being a stiff. Time will tell.
Easy to be a Monday morning QB (or Thursday morning), but I will honestly say that pretty much from the first I heard he was considering SDSU, I thought there was a .00999% chance of landing him. It just seemed too easy to think that he would come here because his brother did.

I've never been a bandwagon guy. I stick with my teams and players through thick and thin. My family moved to SD in 1969, the first year of existence for the MLB Padres. I can still name several of the players on those early teams. I watched a lot of bad baseball leading up to 1984. I bought my Charger season tix in 1988 coming off of a 6-10 season, and was finally rewarded in 1994 with their only Super Bowl appearance. I have been an Aztec fan since I enrolled at SDSU (never attended, thus the "couldashoulda" moniker) in 1982. I have never wavered from the Aztec athletic programs, again, through some really horrible football and basketball seasons.
So, anyway, I will root hard for the players who are here. But, I am so turned off by the whole college recruiting modality and how skewed it is towards the blue bloods that I am definitely jaded in that regard. My skepticism is rooted in the system, not the kids.

But imagine if we assemble the right group of kids who have a disdain for the same system that has left so many of us partially jaded and who all want to show the world? Maybe the ceiling all tings considered is an Elite Eight, or a Final Four, but I'd punch my ticket for that ride any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Well, the scenario you present would be similar to the Padres going to the WS or the Chargers going to the Super Bowl. The fact that for many years (decades) I was a frustrated fan made those appearances for the Pads and Chargers all that much more sweeter! When the Aztecs went to the Sweet 16 it was very similar. Of course I would love for that to happen again for the Pads or Aztecs (not the Chargers anymore!). I love your power of imagination and you keep right on dreaming your dream! I just don't see Boogie and Jaden (or any other top of the heap recruits) coming out and saying that they have disdain for the system and are going to go to SDSU. If you recall, the Sweet 16 team was not peppered with top end recruits. It was a team that had a chip on their shoulder and something to prove. I think that is the more realistic scenario.

I know the % is small for Boogie or Jaden to sign, but the narrative and aspirations are great. I am not saying we should live in denial, but wouldnt it be great? There's not wrong with purposeful hope. I think 99% of us live in reality. And its never over until its over.

Many of the Gary P’s are already penciling Jaden in the “Nation’s best recruiting class” at Kentucky. 5 kids already on board, several are 5 star 1 and done types. Crowded locker room.

I wouldn’t blame him if he did. If I was in his shoes, it would be hard to pass on the deep pockets of Kentucky.
