"This guy" happens to be head of a sovereign state with deep roots and cultural connection to American values. I've said this before and I'll say it again: We are witnessing the rise of nativist, Nationalist, anti-corporate, anti-establishment, politically incorrect, pro-gun, broad-shouldered, clear-eyed leaders with unshakeable support from the so-called "uneducated, working class commoners" (who are seen as deplorable by the globalist elite). These leaders say things that are simultaneously perceived as shocking and humorous, with a ring of comedic truth . . . just which country are we talking about here? Citizens from both U.S. and Philippine Republics are voicing a volcanic dichotomy between those who have been lied to for generations (and are sick of it), and those who are perpetuating the lies (and seek to preserve them). Our job is to figure out which is which. We always have options, but American hegemony in Asia is looking less and less like one of them. geopolitics.co/2016/10/17/keep-your-aid-philippines-to-obama/

The guy is a complete waco or brilliant. Haven't figured out which yet. I expect him to come out in one of gaddafi's uniforms any minute now.

Can you give me a time when the public was not "lied to" on some level by the Government, or had backdoor deals, or cronyism? Because of the Interent and real time information, we just know a lot more than we used to. Also, the world went through an incredible time of unlimited resources (seemingly) and stability that appear to be over. It was so easy (with a bit of hard work and vision) to get ahead when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's that it was ridiculous. Those days could not last forever....and if you look at history, they never have.

Unfortunately, that underpinning is lost on recent generations who see Government action not only as a cure for society's ills, but worse, as a cure for individual shortcomings.

I remember the video of Obama saying that we should all reject the claim that the government should not be trusted. that the government is, in effect, the answer to most problems. Yeah, he didn't quite say that literally, but we all know that Obama was a big, big fan of government coercive action. But that pretty much describes the whole Democrat party, does it not? When was the last time you heard a Democrat say that a particular proposal for government action was going too far? Too bad Obama and those who hold similar views have so badly misunderstood the story of how and why this country was founded. AzWm PS: Above, I wrote the words "government coercive action." That is, of course, redundant. Government action is always coercive.
