4-0 and a 2.25 era. Great start.

ERA would be much lower... except for 2 pitches to Minnesota.
Cruising into the 8th inning, Minnesota put runners on 1st and 2nd... Stras threw an inside fastball that the batter hit a mile, but foul. Next pitch, same exact location... the dude crushed it again for a 3-run jack.
With the addition of a slider and a cutter this year, Stras can pretty much make the ball dance in any direction to a hitter. Throw is the 94-97 mph fastball and he's primed for a monster year.
Been fun to watch so far!

Always been a great thrower. Who could ever forget his debut?
The injury forced him to become a smarter pitcher. He'll be all the better for it.

Strassy would certainly put some butts in Petco Park seats - but only for about 15 games a season. Would that be worth a salary that's more than the current payroll? I say yes, but you know the Padres…
Where's #11 Enzo Hernandez these days, anyway? LOFL

Do not agree about the injury, Strasburg's stuff has backed up since the injury and his results were best as a rookie, he's still got very good stuff but the velocity and curveball bite isn't the same. I fully believe he'd be rivaling everyone not named Kershaw these last few years if not for the injury. Still he has had a great career, so far this year he is 2nd amongst pitchers in fangraphs WAR www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0As for Padres signing him? That would not be smart unless they look to increase payroll considerably, he's going to get 30+ million a year in all likelihood, a starting pitcher isn't worth that on a 110 million dollar payroll other than maybe Kershaw. As for homerun given up, I blame that on Dusty, it was clear that his stuff wasn't the same that inning and he was fatigued.

Agree on the Kershaw bit and to a lesser extent, maybe Strasburg if he could have remained healthy. However, don't sleep on Arrieta; he's the best pitcher in the game right now not named "Kershaw."

4-0 and a 2.25 era. Great start. Good to see a non-Kawhi Aztec alum post (ok, technically, neither are really "alumni," but you get the idea...).

Stras improves to 5-0 today with a good outing @ Kansas City: 6 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs (both earned), 7 SO and 1 BB Nationals bats came alive today... for the first time in his career he is getting GREAT run support!

No doubt, doesn't have same long track record of Kershaw but been incredible last 2 + years

4-0 and a 2.25 era. Great start. I wish he'd bring back his 5K in January. Nothing cooler then being handed a bottle of water as I crossed the finish line by a player who thanked me for participating.
