Not sure he makes sense, where is he going to play? I think Fresno makes sense. This was rumored for a while with him moving to west coast likely but not sure where you saw california.

We would *have* to find a spot for him if he'd be interested. Absolutely.

True this is a big what if! ......... but Chatsworth is a true point.
By the time Thornton could play 2017 - 2018 we would have
Thornton (SO) Hemsley (JR) Kell (SR)
Hemsley played the 2 in High School, Kell could maybe play the 3 for stretches.

He is a 5-star top 10-20 player on any list; however, UCLA, USC, Udub, Zona have crowded backcourts for the next couple of years. Oregon has many spots open.
I doubt he goes to Fresno, or UNLV. Aztecs could be an option, let the dominos fall.Oregon,

USC, Arizona or SDSU would be my guess.
Even with Kell and Hemsley, he would be a fantastic add, no reason we can't play three guard lineups or always have one or more of those guys on the floor.

Oregon has 3 spots open, they have 2 PGs Pritchard and Small. At the 2 Dorsey who will turn pro after his sophomore season. Thornton is a big get for any program.

Uncle Edwards goes off on Duke. #RANT Thornton a different point of view versus his uncle. "I have loved my time at Duke, but I want to pursue the opportunity to play college basketball closer to home," Thornton said in a statement released by the school. "I want to thank my teammates and coaches for their support this year. The relationships I have with them will always be special to me."

I think having two point guards at SDSU would be great. I think Kell is a small ball 3 anyways. Also I think Hemsley would be a great 2 if need be. Hemsley can play either position very well. He was a good 3 point shooter till his injury. If a starting point guard at duke wants to come to sdsu, we should welcome him with open arms

NBC Sports reports:
"...Thornton’s impending transfer has been rumored for some time now, as Duke went out and recruited another point guard — Frank Jackson, a top ten recruit in the Class of 2016 — over him. With Grayson Allen and Luke Kennard returning and Jayson Tatum joining the program as well, Duke’s perimeter suddenly looked quite crowded.
So on paper, losing Thornton doesn’t appear to hurt Duke all that much. In fact, it may actually be beneficial, as it opens up a scholarship for Marques Bolden..."
Can't wait to hear the short list. I have to imagine that the Aztecs would be considered if Derryck wants to play close to home. If I am not wrong he would be our highest rated recruit.

As we have seen PAC schools , will adjust their rosters as needed if they can bring in even better players - part of the beast - so do not be surprised - as players leave their schools . Zags are another option

Zags are another option P12 schools would welcome him. Outside of UCLA, USC and Zona you start to get pretty far away from SoCal. Playing in Spokane, you might as well be in Ft Collins, multiple flights or a long drive.
