Does Dawkins not being the coach for Stanford anymore re-open the doors for Stanback? We sure could use him. If I remember correctly, he committed to them amidst our "scandal", before it came out that we were in the clear. Not sure how much of an effect that had on his decision

Interesting, although it could be that Stanback and family committed more to the school than the program. We'll see. They'll have to get a new coach in place soon to re-establish ties with all of their recruits.

Depends, if the new coach, new system = less minutes. Then yes, he may transfer.

Great chance for Stanback to be the man in the middle of a bunch of really good players!
Come take one more look...

Can someone go on to Twitter and ask him when will he be coming over?

Will he be let out of his LOI? How does it work if a coach is fired... do students get to bail, too?

He chose Stanford for the education. Best chance would be a Cameron Walker bounce back who I believe as well chose Stanford for the education.

There is also a chance that the new HC would go in another direction who knows

He could bounce, they likley let him out if he asks and it depends on how much was Stanford vs Dawkins and his staff.
I would say there is a 25% chance he changes his mind.

I'd put odds as less than that, keep in mind what university we are talking about, kids commit to Stanford less for there coaches than any other high major school.

If sat back signed an LOI they can hold him to it. Hamilton signed with UTEP and tried to get out to and the NCAA made him sit for a year. But that was Tim Floyd. Who wouldn't release him. On the flip side Coach Fisher let Brodricks go with no question asked.

With UTEP I don't think the coaching change happened that year

Transfers could increase from coaches being fired, Eddie Jordan (Rutgers), Johnny Dawkins (Stanford), Trent Johnson (TCU), Ed Conroy (Tulane), Bill Courtney (Cornell) & Matt Brady (James Madison) ...check out Hoop Dirt.com hoopdirt.com/daily-dirt-31416/

Believe it is easier for recruits who would be starting this fall to get release then players who are there . Plus Stanford could get an even better coach ?

I have no idea but my thought would be I would find it hard to believe that any kid would decline an opportunity to go to Stanford to come to SDSU.

If it was Alford getting fired at UCLA or Martin leaving Cal, talking decommits makes sense. But it's Stanford. Kids commit to the school as much as any coach there.
